I sense that the Gumps will now be like a church school we played when I was in high school
I'm don't subscribe to it myself (obviously), but coincidentally the most successful coaches in Alabama state high school history have taken this approach.
Of those still coaching, a few have multiple blue maps and elite talent playing in both the SEC and the NFL.
Maybe DeBoer will do well or maybe he won't, but historically in the South, having discipline is not synonymous with weakness.

I don't see the big deal.
Times are changing anyway. You remember when spankings were normal in households, church, school etc...not so much now.
Remember when bosses used to curse out employees.. Yeah not so much now. Id be damn if anyone curses me out regardless of the situation.
So you really think cursing at some kids who has grown up in a soft world already is more likely to shut down or perform when being berated with profanity?
