I’m from San Angelo and that’s the most accurate way to describe it.

Raise your family in Midland and raise your hell in Odessa.

My dad graduated from OHS in the 60s and left with no intention of ever moving back. It was awful in the 80s when I was out there and when I went back for a funeral a few years back it was even more desolate. Trash everywhere… stuck in fences, trees, etc. Now that was moreso Odessa than Midland.

Midland seems to be trying to make something of themselves and be a bit cleaner of a town, but it would take something like x4 my current salary with a housing allowance and my some sort of airline benefit to even think about it.
