In 1999 Alabama beat Florida in Gainesville 40-39 in overtime.

We missed the game winning extra point, but Florida was offsides. The retry barely snuck inside the upright.

In 2008, Mississippi State beat Alabama in overtime of the SEC tournament. Alabama made a 3 at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. During the overtime period, a tornado hit the Georgia dome. Had the game ended in regulation, it’s very likely that a large crowd would have been outside and in harms way during the event. The game was lost, but lives were potentially saved
