I remember a decade ago, the annual gold game was a thing that LSU would actively advertise, and fans would actually show up in gold in droves. The last gold game I can actually remember is I think 2017 Auburn. Does LSU just not advertise them anymore? Most casual fans today wouldn't even know we did them.

"color" games only work when there is 100% participation from fans.

Whenever LSU did the gold games, they'd only get like 60-70%, so the crowd just looked slightly gold-er than for a normal game.

If they do it again, they need to literally give every seat a gold shirt.

LSU fans could never be bothered to alter their own traditions to buy in on color games

"I wear the same lucky purple tshirt to every home game and bygod if LSU don't have a winning record for all the games I attend. I ain't about to take it off and wear a gold shirt for a stunt. Leave that kinda shite to the Big10 schools. I'll be wearing my purple on Saturday."

The last “color” game for LSU Football was a purple game vs New Mexico in 2022
