He gets more money than what his contract states, so likely would have taken a pay cut himself.

I know we all talk trash here, but my honest opinion is Bama got the second best guy on the possibility list if you include Lanning.

Prefer DeBoer to Sark, Kiffin, Dabo or Norvell. KD may have the lowest floor among those in terms of feeling comfortable they won't crash and burn, but he also has the highest ceiling. Lanning has a higher ceiling and you know he can recruit. That's why I would have preferred him.

While I've heard some say they had to check the tires on Kirby, Kirby made no sense. He's got just as talented of a roster, maybe more. He built it himself. He's doing it for the university he loves most. He and the Prez and AD couldn't be tighter in terms of vision for the program.

I think DeBoer will do well. The thing I laugh at is talking about the last three years of Bama football as if it's terrible and that this breath of fresh air was needed to give life back to the program.

That's an insult to Saban, but also a huge weight put on DeBoer's shoulders. Again, those aren't just some random fans saying that and everybody else telling them they are stupid. Some of the most thumbs upped posts on Bama Rant and Tidefans.

Think that’s high. Check out Kirby’s buy out. Highest in college football. Somewhere around $ 100,000,000.
