Police on Sunday identified the victim as Thomas Bostany. He was 29 and lived in Birmingham.

The city’s South Precinct officers responded at 4:12 p.m. to a report of a person down in the 1000 block of Penthouse Drive, which is Mountainside Apartments.

When officers got to the location, they found Bostany unresponsive inside a vehicle. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene.
