Ultimately, blame for the last play call goes on Saban. Throughout two timeouts, he's on the headsets talking with Rees. Game on the line. His responsibility and his alone. He explained in the post game what they were trying to do. Everyone is quick to throw Rees under the bus for the play call, yet I haven't seen one post blaming Saban, other than mine. Trashing Rees has been a popular hobby with posters. But that final play call is 100% on Nick Saban. Whatever play gets called there has his approval.
