Texas beat Bama by 10 in their stadium. Had Texas WRs not dropped a couple easy ones, it is a 21 point win. As it was, Texas ran off the last 7:31 and made Bama exhaust their timeouts doing nothing but handing the ball off before taking a knee in Bama territory in field goal range as Sark decided not to run up the score. Had the same record and almost identical SOS. Bama was never getting in over Texas.

People forget that Alabama had the lead going into the 4th quarter but Milroe made his second boneheaded mistake then Texas absolutely took over the game with their offense. They had basically been running Alabama’s defense around with quick throws and sprint outs all day. Milroe’s interception broke the defense’s back. They just couldn’t stop Texas who started mixing in more runs after throwing 1-read quick passes and sprint out hi-lo read passes all game.

It managed to perfectly blend “Alabama was a few mistakes from winning” and “Texas seized the game in crunch time” too.

Alabama and Texas both making it into the field was the correct call. Texas deserved the credit for doing something only truly great teams have accomplished by beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Alabama did not deserve to be punished for scheduling aggressively and playing in a quality conference.
