Not all 5* are the same; The transition of some skill players from HS to college is much easier than OL. Big & mean HS thugs may have the ratings based on overpowering inferior talent, but if you don't have good footwork and balance, P5 opponents will clean your clock.

In the last 3 years, there have been 5* and high 4* players that Texas would not sign, including a 2024 Texas top 5 kid.

Talent isn't the issue. They may have been offered by Texas early in the process, or even committed at one point, but at the end, Texas would not take them.

Everybody says character matters; consider the source.
