In my mind, offers mean more than stars. If a player has offers from UGA, Bama, OSU and a couple of other good schools, he's a highly valued recruit, regardless of the number of stars. If he's missing some of those as a 5-star, I'm not sure I buy the ranking.
In the last 3 years, there have been 5* and high 4* players that Texas would not sign, including a 2024 Texas top 5 kid.
Talent isn't the issue. They may have been offered by Texas early in the process, or even committed at one point, but at the end, Texas would not take them.
Everybody says character matters; consider the source.
