Your entire post was spot on but this part right here has been my sermon for years. Anyone who wants to say Bama under Saban gets the “Michael Jordan” treatment…well that’s fine by me. I would argue the point and could probably point out just as many calls that went the other way, but i’ll entertain that sentiment. Refs are humans and humans are biased. The top and most athletic teams often get the calls, and this goes across all sports and levels.

But I want to be very clear on this: anyone (like the OP) who says anything like “it’s the timing of the calls” is batshit, smears feces on their bathroom walls crazy. And not only that, they simply lack the baseline intelligence required to see that thought through to its clear conclusion. They are alleging an intentional and highly coordinated scheme involving hundreds of people every year working together to achieve their dastardly ends. The refs would have to be some of the most highly functioning people on the planet to call the vast majority of the plays correctly in real time; while also operating a secret communication or ranking system that tells them when a game situation has risen to a point intense enough where a bogus call is sufficiently impactful. And they do this for what? Because they’re all bammer fans or they’re getting paid? Usually the accusation is the latter. How much are they paid to fix a game? How are the funds sent? Obviously cash, but delivered by whom? And you’re also telling me that in 130 years, this system has NEVER leaked to the public? Not one honest person out of the thousands it took to run this system over the years ever came forward as a whistleblower? So it’s either that, or the officials just kind of suck. You get to choose.

Next time someone says “it’s the timing of the calls,” think of the above. Sometimes I think being that dumb might actually be a blessing in this fricked up world.
