People love to talk about Thermopylae where the Spartans did what they did best... get the shite kicked out of them. Salamis saved Greece by destroying the Persian fleet and cutting them off from resupplying. Which caused the Persians to call off the invasion and withdraw from the country, with a few skirmishes to polish up the Greek reputation on the way out.
