Well, ole Gussy was hyping him up so much to the media that they only went by what they were hearing.

He was a five star recruit, number one DT QB in his class, starting as a freshman as a legacy playing at his dream school. Playing for the coach who had been mostly incredible with DT QBs - Cam and Nick. It’s a big deal so of course they would make a narrative out of that. You can blame ESPN for a lot of crap but can’t blame them for that. Think we all had pretty high hopes and excitement for him
