It’s really dry simple, after CFB & MBB the other sports still need to be represented in a good light if you want to be a major player in the SEC. Baseball and WBB are about on an even keel right now so I am glad we have be out in two great coaches to lead the programs. And the women’s game is going to continue to grow now that they are getting more exposure. And I believe that eventually it might even be able to break even if we keep selling out the PMAC and the women’s tournament gets its own deal with ESPN.

So just like I am glad that we have a great Gymnastics program and hopefully keep getting better in all of the other sports I want nothing but the best for LSU. I want to win an all sports SEC title on year.

Not really. After football and basketball (except for maybe softball) Alabama isn't noteworthy in any of the minor sports. And I doubt their fanbase, or anyone else for that matter, really cares. Begrudgingly, I think most would agree Alabama is a "major player" in the SEC despite not having much significant success outside of football and basketball.

What the WBB team is doing is great. If it makes some number of LSU fans/alumni happy and proud, all the better! But it doesn't move the needle nationally. And success is those sports is not necessary to make a school a "major player" from a relevancy perspective. If LSU football wins a national championship every sports fan across the country knows it. Same for basketball considering the NCAAT is nearly a BILLION dollar enterprise. If they win a championship in WBB, baseball, track, etc it might get a blurb in the paper or a day or so of coverage on TV, but that's about it.

Watch the game. Be excited and proud for the players/school. Pull like hell for them to win. But don't make it bigger than it really is...which is just kind of an afterthought in the sports world.

This will never happen, unless the women raised their ticket prices and the women would get TV deals close to what the men get from the reg. season abd ftom the NCAA tourney.

The gap is very wide.

Uconn women at their peak weren't breaking even. Outside of a massive TV deal I dont see that happening. Plus more exposure doesnt simply mean more profits, but it does guarantee more expenses.

Nationally yes. But LSU baseball is a massive outlier in this scenario.
