Yes, I'm saying I've never known anyone who did that at that age.
Doesn't mean it hasn't happened — I'm sure it has, but in my experience it's more often in kindergarten/elementary.
I think what's throwing this whole thing is you saying "a lot" of Southern high school football players, like it's standard procedure.
