My theory is if he benches DJ he would transfer like Bryant did midseason and leave Clemson without any depth at QB (after Cade). If Cade were to get injured mid season with no backups Clemson would have a 5-7 season vs DJ squeaking out wins and going undefeated in the conference.

My other theory is DJ’s dad is blackmailing Dabo.
