So, I'll give some credit to you, I actually went to a longhorns game last year when I was doing a work trip in San Antonio.

Tailgating is all over the place, from the great Mexican crews and planned setups, to parking deck tailgates, to like an EDM dj'd setup, to that damned awful Revelxp (Tailgate guys) luxury sanitized bullshite tailgate--which I have come to completely despise after seeing Auburn's Amphitheatre ruined by it this year.

They have their radio show and TVs of games going on right outside as well as team shops and kid games for everyone to get in on--not bad.

Parking is relatively close, but expect to walk 5-10 blocks still after paying for a parking deck spot. The campus is pretty nice, with the cityscape nearby while also open with the giant belltower in the middle. It's quite a natural campus with plenty of little natural nooks to relax in.

Traffic was not too bad and easily manageable, but traffic is confusing af--a lot of road construction was going on.

The stadium was easy to get into, upper deck had a decent roundabout climb, but there were plenty of beer vendors close by. Most views seemed like a good seat even in the upper deck I didn't feel too far from the field. Generally the crowd was nice, but I was in "fit-in" mode so I don't know how I'd be treated as an opponent--this game was the Rice game that year--which I think is like a cupcake rival free win for them.

The traditions seemed to run pretty deep there, but it also appeared to be on a somber note due to their lackluster performance lately.

I would say it would have been too much of a big deal for Bama to be in the upper deck with that climb up and down to the field for halftime. If they would be allowed to field enough members, would be a logistical nightmare, not to mention the process of leaving in time to get there.

For these reasons alone it is unfortunate Texas won't allow for a proper allotment for the MDB, it would only add to the environment, and make for a better introduction to the SEC if they would do this proper. I feel like sure they are an opponent, but the opposition should only be on the field or spoken word, not how the team/fanbase is treated unless proven hostile or otherwise.
