Maybe because he's never won anything in FBS?
But none of this is the point. The point is if you treat Finebaum as some form of validation you don't know much about Finebaum. Historically wrong more than right.

He won conference titles at both his FBS stops before ND and has been at an independent the last 12 years so there’s no conference title to win except the Covid year, even though he still has played in more conference title games at Notre Dame than Jimbo has at A&M
