Honestly, if you can get a moderator or something to Seach the rant for post when the super regional system was implemented, the NCAA basically admitted it was to equalize or minimize the SEC teams in the tournament. Since we have good weather, big stadiums that draw 9000k for regionals, which means more money, we are getting all the hosting bids. Back then you had 6 teams in 8 regionals, I think one year we had 5 or 6 of them witn the other being Florida State and maybe USC or California State Fulleraton, (which was a baseball power for about a decade).

A bunch of schools complained saying it wasn’t fair LSU got to stay home every year, like Mississippi State, Florida every year etc. We had won half of the CWS, the previous ten years so I guess they had a point kinda.

So they came up with the Super Regional System, and to make up for lost revenue they added extra games, and ended our home field advantage.

They would have put all SEC teams on one side of the bracket if they could have gotten away with it. It’s not that they hate the SEC, but they want good ratings and national attention et. Its better for college baseball, and we agree, but it’s not our fault the California teams have gone to shite, and the ACC is off.

Ron Polk, Skip Bertman etc have created a monster, SEC baseball is a dominant creature that can’t be contained
