Recruiting! Depends on what he accomplishes off the field as much as on the field. If we finish around 12-15 in recruiting with holes everywhere on the roster and a graduating of the entire OL and can’t replace with highly rated OL that could potentially a couple come in and start day 1 he’s in trouble. Our top WR prospect is Karmello English. That’s not good enough to win in the SEC although the kid is a fine WR. In state DL class we are gonna have to fight off Bama, UGA, Clemson to get some of the scraps it’s looking like. If we sign only 3 or less in the top 10 in recruiting he’s in trouble. That is the hope. If his recruiting is just getting by there is no hope and will find himself out the door. With it looking like AU will be able to sign around 30ish players if we aren’t top 8 in the country this class will be considered a big let down again.

Much of this true. But Gus consistently recruited "well" but the general knock on him is there was very little player development. Granted we are in a new age with NIL and things, but let's flip this narrative 180 degrees, so if CBH brings in an on paper "shitty" recruiting class with all odds stacked against him, but he and his staff do develop players like Zach and others at QB for this year going forwards, (and Gus was no QB guru), then what? CBH deserves more than a fighter's chance. I say give him 2 more years ro acclimate, learn from his mistakes, build relationships with future recruits, and see what kind of product he puts on the field this year. He and our players deserve much more support. JMHO.
