Would you be as adamant about this if Auburn didn't win the regular season title?

I've explained my view point. As a fan of Auburn basketball and another school with a top 10-15 type program since the 80's.

Yes, as an Auburn fan sitting in the elite 8 in 2019 I was aware that losing that game would feel less satisfying than winning the 2018 Reg Championship. Making the Final Four did surpass the Reg championship but not by a ton. I have the ability to separate getting hot at the right time from a true season long accomplishment.

I also realize you might have to play chalk. Auburn did it in 2019. I also know many years you don't have to play chalk because the tourney isn't a measure of the best but most deserving in that small window of time. Sometimes the best is most deserving but not always.

Fair enough. I'll concede to the fact that in certain years a regular season title could be more impressive than a Final Four and/or deep run. Depends on your conference and the draw you received in the tournament. Arkansas did get lucky last year with getting to play Colgate, Texas Tech (I would say they were similar to this year's Alabama and LSU teams) and then Oral Roberts. We put up a good fight against Baylor, but that obviously was the toughest game by far.
