So sad for this young lady and her family. Universities are not a l Katie's Deathegal system and any possible discipline should be handled immediately if possible, not drawn out like the courts.

Saw the thread on the MSB about her suicide. Sad times for sure for her friends and family.

When you are going through a major depression episode, which it certainly sounds like she was, than anything can tip you over the edge. Including something as minor as a slap on the wrist disciplinary action.

I do not say this to make light of why she killed herself. Rather I'm saying that at that stage any setback could set you off. Not getting your order right at McDonald's. Anything.

Mental health is tricky because we don't want to "intrude". You think you are giving someone space to get over something and don't realize until it is too late that the last thing that person needed at that moment is space.

Sorry about what happened, but claiming people who are doing their jobs and going about their lives naturally over the actions of a mentally ill person is total bullshite.

There is only 1 person to blame for her actions, and that is her.
