Not questioning if the Georgia quarterback fumbled or whether the DB was on the sidelines boundary when he recovered the fumble

What I find odd is the official who made the original call gets to decide if his original call was correct or incorrect.

Thoughts on this process?

That definitely is a bad situation, when the guy that potentially blew the call the first time is in charge of deciding whether or not it will get fixed

He doesn’t make that decision. There is a replay official who reviews it and tells the ref the decision

But Ted, why does he look at the replay (uses a remote to move the film) if he is not making the final decision?

They looking at the same replay the booth official looks at while the booth official relates the information and decision to him. You never heard the announcers saying “here comes the call from the booth or replay official?”

Sadly it's a fumble as long as Tom Brady doesn't do it. Then it's the "Tuck Rule".

Okay thanks

I thought it was an odd scenario if he reviewed his own call

The White Hat is watching the same thing the Replay Official is watching .....Multiple views, not just one. The White Hat has to determine ball position, yards lost or gained after the Booth gives him the decision. Multiple things happen on the sidelines on those plays ....The dang chain crew moves or sets to the goal line for the try ....Then upstairs says "Wait a minute"
