I think the point is the pols might not have gotten involved if you didn't have millionaire old white men telling 18-21 year old kids they can't get a job (against the rules) or have a formal form of payment beyond their scholarship.

If you're running a billion dollar enterprise it's your business to read the tea leaves and protect what your interests. This wasn't hard to predict. NCAA very clearly screwed the pooch on this one.
