What 20 years would that be?
Bryant retired in 1982. In the 1981 season, Alabama played in the Cotton Bowl as co-SEC champs with UGA.
Bill Curry won an SEC title in 1989.
Gene Stallings came to Bama in 1990 and won 70 games and a national title in 7 years. His last season (1996) ended 10-3, tied for 1st in the west, and ranked 11th.
Mike Dubose won an SEC title in 1999.
Nick Saban arrived in 2007 and played for the SEC title in his second season.
Alabama has won at least 1 SEC title every decade the conference has existed. The narrative of '20 years sucking' is absolute fantasy.

You cheated throughout history and went 20 years sucking.
Everyone has always cheated and exploited every loophole. There are no "clean teams."
And, what 20 year span has Bama ever sucked. I'll give you 10-12 year stretches of being more bad than good.
Between 1997-2007 is arguably the worst stretch of Bama football since the 50s and Bama had a Conf Title and 3 x 10-win seasons. Many a team would take that decade
