That is bullshite. It has nothing to do with being a land grant university. AUs master plan only allows building with red brick and grey mortar. This plan was enacted from the start. Only recently has that changed with the Lowder building and some of the new construction. AU doesn't want to look like a patchwork quilt like some Universities.
