Remember those "replace Marshall with JJ" threads last year after the Arky game?

Yeah.

Now this is not a thread meant to bash JJ. Kid had a tough game yesterday. I'm confident he's gonna get better sooner rather than later.

I just wanted to point out:

1. Those threads last year were funny. They're even funnier now.

2. Nick Marshall was a goddam Wizard and we should genuflect toward Jacksonville in thanks every morning.

(Just joking on that last one... kinda... maybe. )

I was wondering when this would come, but I don't agree with it. I was a huge defender of NM. He had intangibles that don't grow on trees and no matter JJ's skills I doubted he possessed them in the same measure as NM. NM, like L Jackson also made it hard on defenses and as much as people want to remember JJ running on Auburn High School 4 years ago JJ doesn't run like NM and L Jackson.

JJ will be fine. Gus will have to run him some. His offense is dependent on it. I don't care about 2009. I remember taking some poundings that season against decent teams.

I know the point of this thread was to shine light on people who don't understand football. Point taken!

Well, I'm no Vince MF'in Lombardi myself. (No... really. )

I just couldn't help remembering those posts from last year post-Arky is all. And what little I do know about football knew that NM was a special player. He just made an active roster in the NFL playing a position he hadn't played in FOUR YEARS. Special, special kid.
