KN's most recent post is a longer slideshow so I will do a post per player instead of a massive one

How many Top100 prospects will AU land? Looking at the chances (247)
quote:

The 2017 Auburn recruiting class ended up No. 9 in the 247Sports rankings, but when all was said and done the Tigers signed just one player in the top 100 of the high school rankings in the industry generated 247Sports Composite -- an average of 247Sports, Scout, Rivals and ESPN.

That player -- 5-star offensive tackle Calvin Ashley.

He came in at No. 27 overall.

What about Auburn's two other recruits that 247Sports had as 5-stars?

Well, quarterback Jarrett Stidham, a January enrollee, came from the junior colleges -- not high school. Additionally, linebacker Tadarian Moultry finished just outside the top 100 in the 247Sports Composite -- at No. 103.

Will Auburn fare better in 2018?

Here's a look at some of the Tigers' targets inside the top 100 of the Composite ...

No. 4: RB Zamir White, Laurinburg (N.C.) Scotland County

The 5-star back has a good relationship with new Auburn tight ends coach Larry Porter (previously of North Carolina), but Georgia is trending big and the Tigers have gotten little traction at this point.

No. 12: LB Palaie Gaoteote, Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman

The 5-star backer has a good relationship with Auburn linebackers coach Travis Williams and might officially visit but he seems solid with his commitment to Southern California.

No. 15: RB Lorenzo Lingard, Orange City (Fla.) University

The 5-star back committed to Miami earlier this year and appears solid. He could, however, visit the Tigers again. This seems like at best a longshot, though.

No. 18: LB Teradja Mitchell, Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan Catholic

The 5-star recruit recently visited the Tigers, but they probably are on the outside looking in behind programs such as Alabama, Florida State and Ohio State.

No. 21: RB James Cook, Miami (Fla.) Central

The 5-star FSU commit will visit the Tigers this summer. Some think he's solid to the Seminoles. With FSU having just signed elite back Cam Akers, others aren't so sure.

No. 22: WR Terrace Marshall, Bossier City (La.) Parkway

Auburn likes the 5-star receiver a lot, but most think he will be LSU bound when it's all said and done.

No. 28: WR Justyn Ross, Phenix City (Ala.) Central

It's probably an Auburn-Alabama battle for the No. 28 recruit in the country. He has visited the Tigers more than anyone else and has formed a great bond with the staff (notably receivers coach Kodi Burns), but the Tide is very much a factor. Look for Ross to attend the April 8 A-Day game at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Right now, the 247Sports Crystal Ball favors Auburn.

No. 43: OG Trey Hill, Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County

Hill has visited Auburn multiple times but the Tigers have some work to do here. Right now, Clemson, Florida State and Georgia are the favorites. Hill should visit Auburn again, though.

No. 45: WR Jacob Copeland, Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest

Auburn is a major contender for the 4-star recruit who has visited the Tigers multiple times and is close with quarterback commit Joey Gatewood. Clemson, Florida and Florida State probably are the other programs to watch.

No. 49: LB JJ Peterson, Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County

Peterson has kept a tight lid on his recruitment, but Auburn, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina are among some of the programs involved. The Tigers signed tight end John Samuel Shenker from Colquitt County in February and that can't hurt.

The 4-star recruit is extremely high on Auburn and he'll visit the Tigers soon. Clemson is another program to watch and possibly the in-state schools. Auburn is very much a factor.

The Tigers are running No. 2 behind Florida at the moment, but Barnes has visited Auburn multiple times and plans to return soon. The Tigers have done well of late in the metro-Orlando area.

The 4-star tackle will visit Auburn on April 20 and is high on offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and offensive line coach Herb Hand. But distance from home could hurt the Tigers. We'll know more after he visits.

4-star OL Tommy Brown Has Spring Visits Slated (Scout)
quote:

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive lineman Tommy Brown has 16 offers to his name and now the four-star is working on visiting some of the schools that have offered.

Brown has plans to head down South for spring break, along with his quarterback, 2019 four-star quarterback J.T. Daniels, with plans to hit a pair of SEC schools.

"Over spring break, me and my quarterback J.T. are going to Auburn to meet the coaches. Auburn is a new offer so I want to visit there and see how it is out there," said Brown. "We're also going to go visit Alabama while we're down there and I'm looking forward to that."

Brown is also planning to get up to the Northwest.

"I'm going up to Washington to visit with the coaches. I haven't talked with the new offensive line coach (Scott Huff) yet. I was talking with Coach (Chris) Strausser and he went silent, but now I know why. So hopefully I'll get to meet with Coach Huff," said Brown. "Then I'm going to Oregon for their spring game."

Brown has visited two in-state schools and liked both of those trips.

"California has really been in the mix. I met with the new staff and I like them a lot," said Brown.

And he visited UCLA earlier this month and met with new offensive line coach Hank Fraley.

"Coach Fraley is a really cool guy and he knows what he's doing," said Brown. "He's really down to earth and honest and I'm excited to get to know him more. I went up there with my guard, Chris Murray and we had a great time, got to see the campus and meet with the coaches."

Brown would like to get out to Michigan at some point too.

"I still like Michigan a lot and they're up there near the top for me," said Brown.

Brown said he's still not in any hurry to make a decision.

"I want to have the right school for me so I want to take all five official visits and then after that, I'll make a decision," said Brown.
