WHERE THINGS STAND: Provens seemed close to committing to Auburn when he arrived at Big Cat Weekend, but it didn't happen. Right now, it's hard to tell what he might do.
I think he ends up at Tennessee because they will take him as a RB. I do like idea of him playing CB but sounds like he doesn't

He visited Saturday with his mother, who recently returned from serving overseas. Ross says he isn't likely to announce a commitment until after the season. A good 2017 could help the Tigers.

WHERE THINGS STAND: Auburn really made a strong impression on Sherwood and his mother Saturday. That was his second visit there and he could return later this summer. The Tigers are trending up. The question is, will he leave the state of Florida for college? If so, Auburn has a real shot.
KN seems to think he is one of if not our top target at safety after evaluation period

WHERE THINGS STAND: Tannor likely will have a summer decision and while he has a top five we think Auburn and Georgia are the two to watch. That's based on visits made and proximity to home. Tannor arrived at Big Cat late because he camped at Georgia that morning but ended up staying the night. That was his fourth visit to Auburn since March.

WHERE THINGS STAND: Tindall says Auburn and South Carolina are his top two with the Gamecocks in front, but we still wouldn't count out Georgia, which some think is the favorite. Auburn is pushing and the fact linebackers coach Travis Williams played at Tindall's school doesn't hurt. This was his second trip to Auburn. Tindall could have a decision early this fall.
Really would love to land this kid. Him, McClain and Harris is the dream class to me. Add those 3 to guys we got last year and we are set at LB for foreseeable future

WHERE THINGS STAND: This was Walthour's first visit to Auburn and by the sound of things he enjoyed himself. At this time, he remains a Georgia lean. Lets see if he returns. If he does, that would indicate he has legitimate interest in the Tigers.
The DT class is really weak this year. Not a huge fan of this kid or Mincy. Honestly just wished we would go get Alfred Thomas but it looks like that won't happen. Heck I would take Allen Love over Walthour

Sounds like 3* DT Allen Love had a good camp at Bama and might get an offer/commit this week. He's real close with Coynis Miller as well. So don't be shocked if Bama takes the top 3 instate DTs in this class with Miller, Love & Cunningham 
Problem for us is state of GA has been weak at DT recently and that's where Garner feasts. I suspect we sign some JUCO guys there this cycle. FWIW tho apparently staff thinks Newkirk is a monster

Ya my 2nd go to site right now. Wolk does a good job. Also Justin Ferguson is my favorite AU beat writer right now. His film room's after games are what sports writers should be doing more of

Recruiting insider: Auburn makes major moves at Big Cat Weekend (SECCountry)

Call it a successful midsummer recruiting event for Auburn.
Big Cat Weekend concluded without any commitments, but the Tigers made up a lot of ground on many of its top targets in the nation. All in all, Auburn hosted more than 30 prospects who all have the Tigers among their favorite programs.
As a result, plenty of intel came from interviews following the event.

- He’ll visit Alabama on Sunday.
- Ross still plans to make a National Signing Day commitment.
- Auburn’s commitments have made it a priority to recruit Ross.

- Alabama still leads for the No. 1 inside linebacker in the nation, but Auburn has firmly put itself in the No. 2 spot. No. 3 is Oregon, No. 4 is Georgia and No. 5 is Michigan.
- Peterson mentioned Alabama’s business-like approach to recruiting has a stronger effect on him than the some of the activity-based recruitment that went along with Big Cat Weekend.
- With that said, my intel says the Tigers are the only school with a chance to top Alabama.

- It was Bush’s first visit to Auburn, and he said it “exceeded expectations.”
- As far as first visits go, Bush said it couldn’t have gone better, citing the coaching staff’s friendliness.
- His trek through the Southeast continues with his next stop being Tennessee. Bush went to Georgia before visiting Auburn.
- He comes from a family of athletes. His father ran a 4.3 as a cornerback and attended Troy University. His mother was a track star.
- Bush’s father was an officer in the Air Force, which resulted in Bush living all over — Alaska, Kansas, Florida, Texas and Germany. As a result, Bush isn’t tied to the state of Texas like some in-state prospects.
- Bush plans to visit the Tigers again before making any decisions.

- Harris hasn’t stopped admitting his lifelong fandom of Ohio State, but he still hasn’t visited Columbus. He’ll do that on June 17, which is a major date for Auburn to watch. He wants to see if the coaching staff is as welcoming in-person as they are over text messages and phone calls.
- Will Harris’ recruitment be affected at all by the Ohio State commitment of linebacker Teradja Mitchell? Harris said it’s possible. It’s part of the reason he wants to make that trip to Columbus.
- If it does affect things, Auburn is clearly in position to swoop in and grab him. The Tigers are his No. 2 school.
- His relationship with Travis Williams is stronger than with any other coach in the country.
- Alabama is a school to watch here. The Crimson Tide haven’t made a major push yet, but he will camp in Tuscaloosa on Sunday. He said Alabama has an opportunity to work its way into the mix.

- Hill said he told the Auburn coaching staff the Tigers are his new leaders after recently releasing a top 5 that includes Alabama, LSU, Florida and South Carolina.
- Why is Auburn on top? He grew up an Auburn fan, and that fandom is playing a role in his decision-making process.

- He returned for his second time in the last month. Once again, he called the visit a resounding success.
- The Tigers talked with him about the potential of having some reps on offense, as opposed to just cornerback like most schools. Clemson is the only other program that presented him with that potential.
- McMichael wanted to decide during the summer, but said on Saturday that he’s likely to push that back a little.
- He said he will visit Auburn “as much as possible” in the next few months.

- Newkirk hasn’t been to Auburn since he visited during the 2016 recruiting cycle.
- He isn’t just participating in Big Cat Weekend. He arrived on June 1 and will be in Auburn until June 5.
- Nothing has changed with his commitment. He’s just glad to be back on campus with the coaching staff still feeling as positively about him as they did before.
- Auburn thinks he can be an interior or exterior defensive lineman.
I said this earlier but all the reports coming out are the staff thinks this dude is gonna be a boss for us next year. Curious to see what he does in JUCO this season
