He's younger than Acuna by a few days

He was a 2020, possibly 2019 prospect.

I can't tell if the Braves are desperate for pitching or they're treating the next 6 weeks like tryouts for pitchers for next year,or both. Perhaps there's plans to ship a few off in an offseason trade.

@grantmcauley · 6m To sum up, Bryse Wilson started this season with the High-A @FireFrogsBB (5 starts) then was promoted to Double-A @mbraves (15 starts) and jumped to Triple-A @GoStripers (3 starts) before getting the call to The Show by the #Braves today.

It's certainly a fine line to walk. We are most assuredly goign to trade some pitching prospects in the next year or two. Maybe you get lucky and they show out thereby upping their stock, but then maybe they are exposed and their stock goes down. It's certainly been an interesting month with these guys being given an opportunity.

I will say this, if the Braves lose tonight I REFUSE to take the blame for it with Wilson making his debut

It'll be a crapshoot and in no way should be linked to my inauspicious thread starting.

Nope, single-handedly your fault for a 20 year old losing his debut during an away game.

I blame this call up on Vinegar’s thread. That is the only outlier I can pinpoint.

You’ve got a lot of guys ready to take MLB rotation starts at the beginning of ‘19

JT, Gausman, Folty, Newk, Soroka, Touki, Bryse, Gohara, Allard, Fried

Wright seems close. You’ve got Anderson, Wentz, and Muller all with filthy stuff and all over 20. Anderson and Wentz are just in A ball but so was Bryse earlier this season.

Weigel is back from TJ and throwing. Just an absurd amount of young guys that made it to this point. You expect more of them to turn out the Hursh, Gilmartin, Jenkins route but all of these guys have so much projectability. Good luck to AA to sort it all out

Barring a major stroke of luck, we need to be prepared to see a few guys traded away who turn into quality MLB pitchers. Not necessarily a bad thing if we get quality talent back, but it will inevitably happen.
