Why does our oline not pay attention to the play call from the sideline?

Maybe that's one of the reasons that they suck?
They are just told run or pass? They all just stare ahead while everyone else is looking to the sideline.

For potential trickeration purposes.

Because if the blocking scheme is changes with the play the QB clues them in to the change.

Yes, for other teams that is the case... I've seen the OL look for the play call, I've seen the qb walk up and yell at the OL,
I've never seen a team have the OL just stand there while everyone else is looking for the play call, and then the qb just snap the ball before talking to the line.

Blocking scheme is in the play call. Hicks gets the call from sideline and yells it out.
If an adjustment is made after first play call, the base of the play should be off of the original play. If that makes sense. The audible call would tell the Oline if it switches from pass to run, or vice versa.
They(OL) shouldn’t have to look at sideline if they know the base playbook.
