There are only two signing dates for football. One is 12/18 for mid-year JC transfers, the other is 2/5 for everyone else. I still don't see how he could have signed a National Letter of Intent today if he's in high school.

He could have signed a financial aid agreement, but those are not the same thing as NLI and are not binding in the same way.

Either way when he steps on campus next month he is here. He can't decide he wants to go back to TCU and flip. He would be under the same rules as any other transfer.

If he's enrolling in January then he graduates in December. I see no reason whatsoever that he needs to wait until February as a HS grad.

Because the signing period for high school grads starts February 5th and lasts until April (15th I think?). Only midyear JC transfers can sign before February 5th.

This is what's on the NCAA's website. It makes absolutely no mention of high school graduates being able to sign earlier than Feb 5th, and I've never heard of this being possible in the 5-6 years I've followed recruiting.

If he 'signed' then he signed a financial aid agreement... unless someone can show me a reputable source that says he signed an actual NLI.

edit: this isn't really that important to me but I start to get a little like Rain Man sometimes

Coaches can talk about a player now after they sign the financial agreement. I believe that is what is causing the confusion here.

So a WR committed to a school that was going to start running a spread offense, flipped to Bret '3 yards and a cloud of dust' Bielema?

Guess he really enjoys blocking
