same here

My wife/then girlfriend basically banned me from watching games at the end of the Gottfried era because I would get so angry.

I don't think I've ever done that at a football game. I get sad or depressed, but I don't get angry and scream at the TV. Thanks CMG.

No I won't because it's not a bad loss...and this game won't determine if this team gets in if they are on the bubble. Beating teams you should and playing well down the stretch will. We nearly lost by 40 to Dayton and was in the "last 4 in" & "last four out" until we played ourselves out by losing to bad SEC teams UGA, Ark & MSU (1-4) during that stretch and (8-10) overall..is what kept us out..not losing to Dayton last year.

Flip side, if we had won that game at Dayton we could have absorbed one of those losses down the stretch.

That's kind of the point. Losing a game like this steals a resume builder from you and makes every other game that much more important. Unfortunately, our OOC schedule from here on out is basically really hard road games and gimmee home games. This was our best shot for a really solid resume win.

Good teams win this game, but we aren't there yet. Hopefully we get there soon because being mediocre for so long sucks.

Well everyone had King in their starting 5 and as a previous 5 star player I thought he would be decent and maybe I shouldn't had thrown armond in there but king yes I just don't see it.

You've SEEN ONE FREAKING GAME!

2015 Dayton 80 Alabama 48

Player FG 3PT FT
R. Obasohan 2-10 1-3 2-2
D. Ingram 1-4 0-1 0-1

Guess we should have processed their arses because clearly they're guaranteed to suck.

If we had been good enough to beat Dayton last year...we probably wouldn't have tanked at the end of last season against crappy sec teams

I wasn't holding that game up as an example because we lost by 40. I was holding this years game up as one.

Either way, doesn't matter, we lost, move on.

I mean, I didn't dislike Coleman, but he was a limited basketball player.

The team THIS year has a ton of potential to be a lot better than last year's team. Let's not give up after one loss to a quality opponent.

Texas and Clemson are both winnable games, and the Oregon game was close last year.

Let's see how the team responds to losing a close one at home. You always learn more from a loss.

Sure, but Dayton is a veteran team and stepped up..doesn't mean we are not good just mean we haven't put the tangibles to do the same.

Only time will tell. All you've got to do is look at last season.

Lost to Dayton in a game that wasn't as close as the 80-48 final score, lost badly to Xavier, and then proceeded to beat two ranked teams and go toe to toe with PAC-12 champ and elite-8 Oregon.

This team's already at a much better place than last year's squad. If they improve at the same rate it will be an excellent year.

Yea - sucks we missed a good shot at a resume win, but we didn't play awful and we missed some shots. Definitely not a reason to jump off the bridge.

Need to win 2 in Vegas against Valpo and BYU/Saint Louis. Those are solid teams and good OOC win chances.

I have, seems like you are taking this loss hard. Dayton is a tournament team and if we played them again I think we would lose again because they are better than us.

I think everybody LIKED Coleman. The guy went all out but he was really limited in what he could do on the court.

I'm not giving up hope. I can't say I wish we could skip forward to next year with a much more talented roster and deeper team? This team at best could make the NCAAT, but would be an early exit. Next year's squad should make a deep run.

I just remember way too many March Sunday evenings over the years sitting there saying "damn it if we'd just won that home game against X in December our RPI would be 10 spots higher, we'd have another Top 50 win and we'd be a 10 seed".

Hate that feeling.

Didn't watch the game and was too busy at work to keep up with this thread. Can some please give me the run down of the game so I can know why I want to scream

Dayton is a solid ballclub, gave us fits on offense. We couldn't really get in a flow, missed a lot of shots. Lot of fouls on both ends, both teams were pretty ugly at the FT line. They made some big shots late, we didn't.

That's really about it.
