name me a player who Grant signed that blossomed, matured, and developed into a much better player under his tutelage.
I'd say Levi Randolph. Releford did too, but I highly doubt that was Grant's doing. Releford developed into a better PG as he gained more and more experience. It wasn't until his junior year he became a true threat from beyond the arc and could take command of the offense on the court. That guy could finish in traffic like no other though and was money from the FT line. Would have loved to have seem him under Avery. Grant ruined his senior year by having the same old shitty stagnant offense and going 13-19.
Like you said, Grant kinda fricked us badly. Lacey, Jacobs, Mitchel, and Pollard (though not his fault) all left the program.

Releford's senior year the roster was too good to go 13-19
Releford
Retin
Randolph
Cooper
Jimmie Taylor
Jacobs should've started over Taylor too. Jacobs was a good post scorer

I went all the way to Atlanta for the SEC tourney that year just to watch us lose the first game to LSU...

Now the SEC tournament is the worst conference tournament in all of basketball. The stadium is empty for every game that doesn't involve Kentucky

There were a ton of Kentucky fans there that day watching the game. They had a whole section full of people. Kentucky didn't even play until the next day

They played the winner of that game, so that probably made a difference. Our conference does the bare minimum to promote basketball IMO. It's so bad it almost seems lazy

And any player Jacobs guarded was a way better post scorer... Or so it seemed.

Auburn played half as hard against South Carolina as they did us.
Posted on 1/24/17 at 8:29 pm to TomRollTideRitter
They lost 98-69. I swear they only care about beating us

I think Bruce accidentally gave them the scouting report on us again because they let SCAR shoot open threes all game

We would be tied for first in the SEC if we had won at Auburn...

Also, our record is better right now than it was last year.
Year 1: Started 10-8 (1-5)
Year 2: Started 11-7 (4-2)
Year 1: Started 10-8 (1-5)
Year 2: Started 11-7 (4-2)

Anyone confident about tonight? I'm thinking we lose
