Spending is not an issue with education. At all. It's always laughable to me when people think money will solve education issues. Schools have plenty of money. More than enough. When it comes to sports it makes a difference because poorer communities have a hard time raising funds on their own outside of normal education spending. County schools also have a harder time than city systems with with 1 or 2 high schools.

Spending matters, but only to a point. All the money in the world won’t overcome home environment, system leadership, community, etc.
