Trey Palmer

Early contenders:
LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, Auburn, Florida State, Michigan, among others.

Breakdown: As a Louisiana native, most people assume that Palmer will end up at LSU. For now that’s a safe assumption as Palmer has been a regular on campus in Baton Rouge and isn’t shy about his affinity for the Tigers coaches. But schools like Alabama and Texas A&M aren’t giving up and both continue to work to get Palmer on campus. It’s going to be an uphill battle to lure him away from the Tigers and out of his home state, but the right program with the right opportunity might be able to draw his attention. Palmer has said he plans on visiting several schools this spring, including the Seminoles, Tide, Wolverines and Aggies so if and when he takes those trips will be worth following.

SEC trio leads for Rivals 250 DB

quote:

During the spring of his sophomore year, Rivals 250 cornerback Christian Williams received an offer from Michigan. That was offer No. 1 and now, fast forward 10 months later, he is right 20.

To say the least: he has exploded onto the scene as a top recruit.

Some of the best in the SEC have offered and he has those at the top of his list. He is fresh off a visit to LSU and those Tigers along with Alabama and Auburn lead for the 6-foot-1, 175 pound playmaker out of Daphne (Ala.).

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "At this point I still want to explore my options more to make sure I am making the right choice in the end, but Alabama, Auburn and LSU are on top," said Williams. "I have thought about committing already, but I was not ready, so I have not my my decision yet."

ALABAMA: "I love how high Alabama's standard is to win there. They get better every day, they work hard and they compete every day. They have a lot of great players, so you have to work to play there. I have been talking to coach [Pete] Golding and coach [Tosh] Lupoi the most. They love my size, my film and they feel I fit in great with their scheme.

AUBURN: "I was up at Auburn for a Junior Day and I really got to see how their coaches care about the players. They showed that they want their guys to graduate and they put that ahead of football. It is a good environment there too. Coach [Travis] Williams and coach [Marcus] Woodson are the coaches that I communicate with there."

LSU: "I really enjoyed the coaches, the facilities and the environment at LSU. The thing that stood out the most was the purple and gold because thats how we are here at Daphne. I spent the most time with my position coach, coach [Corey] Raymond and he talked to me about how I'd fit into their system perfectly. He told me that they really want me there and that I could start my freshman year and finish a first round draft pick. LSU is like DB U, so they know how to develop defensive backs. I had a good time and it just felt like home."

RIVALS REACTION: Williams grew up an Alabama fan, so he has been following the Crimson Tide since he was a kid and really started playing football. He has no visits scheduled at this time, but he is looking to take a trip to Clemson and Tennessee in the spring. A decision could come at any time, but he wants to make sure he sees what each school to offer first. He will be a tough one to pull out of Alabama. He wants his family to be able to him play as much as possible, so that will factor into his decision.

Another star out of Jackson-Olin headed to Auburn?

quote:

Tadarrian Moultry was the guy in 2017. Coynis Miller was that in 2018. Both stars out of Birmingham (Ala.) Jackson-Olin signed with the Auburn Tigers.

Could the star there in the 2020 class be on his way to joining those guys on the Plains?

Auburn was the first school to offer Quandarrious Robinson and it came last summer, shortly after he completed his freshman year. The 6-foot-4, 200 pound outside linebacker had a big sophomore season and he has added offers from Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and others, but all schools are behind the Tigers.

"I have visited Auburn five or six times and I went to a lot of their games last season, so I am really liking them a lot right now," said Robinson. "They are my No. 1 school because I believe they really want me. I know it is not time for me make a decision yet, but they are recruiting me like it is my time and like I am a priority.

"They have really showed me a lot of attention and made me feel important. That has all showed me a lot. I like that and just how I feel when I am there."

Robinson has developed strong relationships with defensive line coach Rodney Garner and linebackers coach Travis Williams. The main guy for Robinson is T-Will, one of the top recruiters in the SEC.

"He is an energetic, upbeat coach who knows how to talk to guys like me. He is easy to talk to, he is always positive and he is just a coach I relate to. He would be a great coach to play for."

Now that Moultry has been at Auburn for almost a year, Robinson has gotten some feedback from him about what life is like there as a student-athlete.

"I talk to TD all the time and he has kept it real with me. He's told me not to come in expecting to be first in the drills and that you have to work hard. He talked to me about the school work and just how you have to put the work in to get the job done.

"I like what he has told me. He loves it at Auburn and I know Coynis is excited about going there, so it would be cool to end up there."

Robinson is not ruling out other schools, but at this stage in his recruitment it appears the school just over 100 miles from his home will be very tough to beat.

"I feel right at home at Auburn," said Robinson. "It is really like a second home for me. I really can see myself being there and being happy there.

"I am not saying I won't look at other schools, but Auburn is definitely my top school. Committing early has crossed my mind, but I want to check out some other schools to make sure of things before I make my decision."

Tidbits from campus

Of the 2019 visitors, it’s certainly worth noting that several 5-star recruits were on hand to see the action. That includes priority targets like Stingley and Sopsher, as well as Harris, who recently garnered his offer from LSU, in addition to priority 4-star targets in Starks, Palmer and Lee.

LSU is in the lead for Stingley, who has been a regular at campus all spring. Seeing the team’s thin depth chart at corner is an appealing selling point for the 5-star Baton Rouge product, who was keeping close tabs on that position group for the bulk of the afternoon.

The same can be said for Sopsher, whose last visit was to Baton Rouge for the January elite junior day. Based on proximity to home, Sopsher is continuing to nurture his relationship with the new coaching staff. Dennis Johnson and Ed Orgeron are both leading the charge for the state’s No. 1-ranked prospect.

Torbor, Kimbrough, Clark and Hollins are some of the notable visitors who made their way to campus without offers. LSU has been careful about which in-state prospects have been offered thus far, but with needs in the backfield and in the secondary, these are some of the top prospects in Louisiana to keep an eye on.

Two notable prospects that were not spotted at LSU on Sunday were 4-star New Orleans cornerback Devin Bush and 4-star Destrehan running back John Emery Jr. Bush released a list of five finalists earlier in the week and sources close to the elite corner informed SEC Country that he and his family made an unofficial visit to campus on Friday. Members of the Edna Karr coaching staff were on the sidelines for the practice, taking a look at alums Andre Anthony and Racey McMath.

Emery has made unofficial visits to Oklahoma, Auburn and Michigan, with the latter two coinciding with both of LSU’s junior day functions. Sources close to the 4-star running back expect him on campus for some spring practices. One source indicated that out-of-state schools are tabbing the Tigers as the team to beat, which makes a return visit to Baton Rouge in the near future all the more likely. Don’t expect a decision soon, but Emery is planning to trim his impressive offer list down to five ahead of his senior season.

Kenyon Green‘s spring tour is in full effect. Next up on the schedule is a visit back to LSU.

Green, the nation’s top-ranked offensive tackle in the 2019 class, is expected to make an unofficial stop in Baton Rouge for the team’s second spring practice on Tuesday, a source told SEC Country.

Green, a 5-star prospect from Atascocita (Texas) High School, was committed to LSU for a year before reopening his recruitment in December.

Last month, Green told SEC Country that he had a top three of Alabama, Texas A&M and Oklahoma, but both LSU and Texas were making strong pushes. First-year offensive line coach James Cregg has taken over the tackle’s recruitment in place of Jeff Grimes and has quickly made a strong impression on Green.

This will be Green’s first visit back at LSU since de-committing three months ago and his first face-to-face meeting with Cregg.

LSU is just about a week removed from its second junior day event on-campus and is bracing for what should be a quality list of unofficial visitors this weekend as spring football gets underway.

That momentum will continue into the middle of next week as a major out-of-state target is expected to make his way to Baton Rouge.

Faatui Tuitele, a 5-star defensive tackle from Hawaii, is preparing to make his way to the mainland for a string of visits. LSU is first on the list — with a visit slated for Tuesday, the second day of spring football practice.

It would be Tuitele’s first-ever visit to LSU,a big step forward in Ed Orgeron’s attempt to land a blue-chip defensive tackle in the 2019 class. Afterward, the All-American is scheduled to visit Oklahoma and Texas, with trips to Alabama and Ohio State in line for next month.

Tuitele is the No. 23 overall prospect in the 2019 class. He ranks as the No. 2 defensive tackle and top recruit from Hawaii, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

4-star RB Tyrion Davis says he’s ‘100 percent committed’ to LSU

quote:

Running back is a priority for LSU in the 2019 recruiting cycle, and the Tigers own a commitment from one of the nation’s best in four-star prospect Tyrion Davis.

Davis committed to LSU on June 10, 2017, and he told GN he remains “100 percent committed to the Tigers.”

“I grew up watching LSU and I always wanted to play for them,” he said. “When I received the offer, it really did something to me. I couldn’t do anything but smile and I thank God every day for it. I grew up with Derrius Guice, and after seeing him go there, I wanted to play for them even more.”

Davis, (6 feet 1, 230 pounds), from Baton Rouge (La.) Southern Lab School, is among the top-15 running backs in the country and a top-200 prospect overall.

“To be honest, I don’t really get caught up in that because none of that really means anything at the end of the day,” Davis said regarding his high national ranking. “When you step foot on campus, all that goes out the window. So, I try my best not to get caught up in the rankings and all that.”

So, what type of running back is LSU getting with Davis?

“I think I’m a good athlete and just an all-around player,” he said. “I can play whatever I need to play on the field just to help my team win. … I think I’m pretty fast and I can get through tackles and bounce it outside when I need to. I can make people miss when I need to, as well.”

When asked who he models his game after, Davis said, “I like Leonard Fournette a lot and Todd Gurley as well.”

Davis is one of four top-200 recruits currently committed to LSU in the 2019 class.

You know when your dogs or cats are due for an immunization or something your veterinarian will send you out a reminder card?

Well we got one today that was meant for the previous owners (who I've mentioned before are Auburn fans) dog and it had the dog's name on the card.

And wouldn't you know that little bastards name is motherfricking Cam.

I've been meaning to take some pictures, but it seems like it has been raining every damn day. He's around 140lbs and 13 months old. Having to wipe the dogs feet off every time they go out is a pain in the arse. Just seems like it's been one thing after another the last month or so . I had a tree limb fall and ricochet off the fence and then hit me in the jaw/face, so I'm still dealing with headaches. It rung my bell pretty good. Didn't knock me out but I was hearing bells

Damn.

I had a buddy a long, long time ago who's father had his face caved in by a tree he was cutting down. He was cutting a big piece of it off and it swung down and landed straight on his forehead. He was fricked up pretty bad. They did reconstructive surgery as best they could, but he looked completely different and wasn't right mentally after that.

Swimming pools are great, but damn, they can get expensive. I'm sure you'll feel better about it in a couple of months, but I would have been threatening to fill the damn thing in

The kids got in it last weekend when the weather was nice so at least someone is enjoying it.

I walk outside and see it and I start fuming.

I have someone coming out tomorrow to cut down a tree in the backyard due to the pollen and shite that lands in the pool.

But at least I won't get my face caved in.

Don't even get me started on pollen. I love the spring but it kicks my arse. I'm allergic to everything. I gave myself allergy shots for about 2 years but they just weren't worth it.
