Clay Webb will be in Athens this weekend.
Don't like that.
Me neither. Also, a bunch of the sunshine pumpers on BOL said he's a Bama lock, this visit doesn't matter, etc... Watts shut that down and said Bama's staff views UGA as a big threat

We got another CB for 2020 5-star DE Sa'vell Smalls two days ago.

Alabama staff sees it different. So do others near him. UGA is a factor at this point. I'm not saying he's going to UGA. I'm saying UGA is a threat. Bama staff realizes this. I'm simply saying I would not consider Webb a lock at this point. But I do think he ends up at UA."

Meet Alabama’s 2019 Commits (Part 2)
quote:
Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class is filled with talent and here is a look at the other ten guys that fill Alabama’s 2019 class.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:07 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Taulia Tagovailoa
Taulia is a 4-Star quarterback, but unlike his brother, he is more of a pro-style quarterback. He is very comfortable in the pocket. He keeps his feet moving at all times and throws the ball with a ton of confidence.
Alabama’s coaching staff already has a great connection with Taulia, which should make his transition to Alabama very smooth. Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class is off to a good start. It is safe to say the Tide are bouncing back.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:08 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Jahleel Billingsley
Billingsley has great size at 6-feet-4-inches and 218 pounds, who can make moves in open space. He has great knowledge of the game and knows how to bail out his quarterback when he gets in a bad predicament. Billingsley also has blocking experience as he can stalk block with the best of wide receivers as well as help create running lanes for running backs. This kid is very much a receiving tight end. He has the potential to turn into a threat in the passing game.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:08 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Demarcco Hellams
Hellams is ranked as No.136 in the ESPN 300. He is the No.4 safety in the nation.
Hellams is a scary defender that jumps at any opportunity to force a turnover. He is very athletic, which enables him to play both wideout and free safety. Nick Saban has been known to try players out in different positions, so don’t be surprised if he gets the chance to see some time on offense.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:08 pm to TideSaint
quote:
John Metchie
Alabama is getting an elite player in Metchie. He is dangerous in space and is one of the more aggressive wideouts in this class. He has experience in the secondary and knows how to make sure he is felt on the defensive side of the ball as well.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:09 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Shane Lee
Lee is a 4-Star recruit and is ranked No.77 in the ESPN 300. He is a product of St. Francis Academy In Baltimore, Maryland, the same high school as Alabama freshmen defensive end, Eyabi Anoma.
The Maryland-native stands at 6-feet and weighs 240 pounds. Make no mistakes about it, he makes great use of his size as he is a punishing tackler. He is also very athletic and has great footwork. He can move sideline to sideline and is pretty good in pass coverage.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:09 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Rashad Cheney
Cheney is a 4-Star recruit out of Georgia. He stands at 6-feet-2-inches and weighs 270 pounds. He dominates one on one battles and knows how to shed blockers with great efficiency, making it easy for him to make plays in the backfield. He knows how to be very disruptive and clog up holes.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:09 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Kevin Harris
Harris has the ability to make an immediate impact. His jump off the line is phenomenal. It looks almost like he is popping off the ground because he is so explosive off the snap.
He is also a tenacious defender. He never gives up on a play and has enough speed to chase down ball carriers from behind.
This is also a guy that is in love with contact. He is going to hit somebody on the field before the whistle blows. On the rush, his outstanding. He hits the quarterback with a ton of force and makes his presence felt.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:10 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Antonio Alfono DE
Alfono is the No.1 player in the state of New Jersey. He is a 4-star recruit and is ranked as No. 100 in the ESPN 300.
He is an efficient tackler and has experience playing on the offensive line as well. This guy is most definitely a hand full at 6-feet-4-inches and 285 pounds. He has the ability to set the edge and is very technically sound. The most impressive thing about him is the way that he can recognize where a play is going early and attack. He rarely judges a play wrong and outruns a potential tackle. Alabama wants to add some depth to their defensive front and Alfono is a huge addition.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:10 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Byron Young
Young surprised everyone when he committed to Alabama on Independence day at midnight but it definitely was a good surprised.
At 6-feet-4-inches and 279 pounds, Young is on the hunt for the ball carriers at all times and nothing is going to stop him. He makes it his mission to get through blockers and make plays on the ball carriers. He gives the Tide yet another great defensive linemen commit in this class.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 9:11 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Justin Eboigbe
Eboigbe is a lengthy defensive end, that use his long frame to extend and make tackles on fleeing ball carriers. He also doesn’t mind delivering the hard hits and making runners remember him. Eboigbe and the other defensive linemen in this class will not all be called upon to produce early, which gives many of them time to develop and adjust to the college, and most importantly, SEC style of football.

Agree to disagree I guess. He said Alabama's staff sees it as a fight and so do others near him. I take that as a big threat.
ETA: and the thread is full of sunshine, as is typical for BOL. Not sure where my exaggeration comes from. I'm not saying we don't get him, just that he, according to Watts, isn't the Bama lock some allege.

You did exaggerate some. I quoted exactly what Tim said. He did not say "big" threat. At least you admitted that you're the one who views UGA as a "big" threat. The conversation between Tim and the posters was cordial. He didn't put "sunshine pumpers" in their place the way you represented it. They're posters who base their confidence on what they've seen posted by reliable insiders, as well as posters from Oxford who know that Webb has been telling people there that he is going to sign with Bama in December. You did distort and exaggerate the dialog between Tim and other posters some.
ETA: I accidently left out one of Tim's posts, but I've corrected my post to include it.

Lol... OK. He absolutely said "others near him" see it as a fight. And Bama staff sees it as a fight. And other posters were saying not to worry and it wasn't a fight. He disputed that. So no, I didn't significantly exaggerate.

Thanks. I appreciate you contibuting too. And I apologize for sort of calling you out like I did, but when paraphrasing it's important to be accurate. It is ok to quote small pieces of VIP stuff. We do need to be careful to not overdo it though.
