Anybody have any thoughts or predictions about who we end up with in regards to WR/DBs. I know we have a long way to go and things are fluid (especially with so many guys who can play db and wr) but was just interested in what people thought. These seems like the position groups with the widest variance in who number of spots and possible players.
Receivers & Tight Ends (1-3)
4* WR/S Brandon Turnage 6-1/185 (MS) hudl
4* WR/S Milton Wright 6-3/195 (KY) hudl
4* WR/S Zion Puckett 6-1/195 (GA) hudl

4* TE Keon Zipperer 6-3/230 (FL) hudl
4* TE Ethan Rae 6-5/240 (CA) hudl
Defensive Backs (3-4)
4* CB Christian Williams 6-1/185 (AL) hudl
4* S/WR Devonta Lee 6-2/212 (LA) hudl
5* S/NB Daxton Hill 6-1/187 (OK) hudl
4* S/WR DeMarcco Hellams 6-1/203 (MD) hudl

4* CB Tyrique Stevenson 6-0/190 (FL) hudl
4* CB Jeffery Carter 6-0/180 (TX) hudl
5* CB Akeem Dent 5-11/176 (FL) hudl
5* CB Andrew Booth 6-1/188 (GA) hudl
It is a little crazy because even with 12-14 spots to fill it already feels like we are facing a numbers crunch. I was listing my top 12 and all types of great players who we could get I couldn't fit on my list (Pola-Gates, Handy, Diabete etc.) . Bama problems
I recently mentioned that I think a key reason Bama is targeting some guys who can play both WR & DB well (Turnage, Lee, Wright, Hellams and Puckett) is because taking a few guys like that would give Bama the flexibility to cover WR & DB needs adequately for this cycle with 1-2 fewer guys, in order to ease the numbers crunch.
But at this point, I can't project who's likely to end up in this class at WR & DB. I tend to think Bama will push for commitments from Hill, Wright and Lee (maybe as a silent) this summer and maybe another cornerback too. Hill has CB speed, but Idk if he has CB hips.

I'm not sure what kind of illness is going around, but I've been sick as a dog since Saturday. Fever, sore throat, coughing and horrible congestion. It was a straight up glorious day at work today

LINK ]Versatile athlete Zion Puckett calls Auburn his No. 1 school after Big Cat (SEC Country - AU)
quote:
AUBURN, AL — On Zion Puckett’s fourth trip to Auburn, the Tigers made their move. The Spalding, Ga., athlete had been to Auburn a few times before.
His Friday-to-Sunday trip for Big Cat Weekend provided a new type of opportunity to interact with fellow recruits and Auburn coaches. After a meeting with Gus Malzahn to end his trip, Puckett declared the Tigers as the leader in his recruitment, which includes competition such as Ohio State, Alabama and Tennessee.
“Right now, Auburn stands very high. I just got done talking to coach Malzahn, and I believe they’re No. 1,” Puckett said. “The thing that was different about this was, throughout the weekend with Big Cat, I got the chance to be around the top recruits and just be able to bond with all the coaches. What sticks out for Auburn is I feel like this is a good fit for me.”

Puckett placed Alabama at No. 2. Tennessee and Ohio State are others to watch. He’ll visit Tennessee on June 22.
When Puckett wasn’t with Auburn coaches or other recruits, he spent time with offensive lineman Brodarious Hamm, a former Spalding (Ga.) teammate. The multi-night stay gave Puckett the opportunity to experience life similar an Auburn student-athlete.
Puckett is listed as a 4-star wide receiver, the 223rd-ranked player in the country. Most schools are recruiting him differently than that, however. They all like him on the offensive side, but he has a strong defensive back skill set, as well. Auburn spoke with Puckett on his visit more about defensive fit than offensive fit and told him his versatility would give the Tigers the ability to play at cornerback, safety or nickel.
“Right now, it’s still athlete, but I’m mainly focusing on defense. It’s really nothing different [than other schools]. Everyone has done the same thing about being an athlete, wanting me to play both sides,” Puckett said. “I prefer to play whatever is good for the team, whatever helps the team.”
Puckett doesn’t plan to make a decision until midway through his senior season. He will graduate in December and enroll early at his school of choice.

The staff is still trying to sift through guys at Wr and I will know more after camp season ends. I will say bama was pushing hard for Theo Wease but wanted him to wait for OV but he didn’t and commited to OK. Staff really likes Jameson Williams, I’ll talk with a couple people tonight to find out more. At DB bama’s is firmly in the mix for Akeem Dent and Daxton Hill. Regardless of the Oklahoma buzz staff still feels good with his OV coming up. Noa Pola-Gates,Jaylen Phillips,Jaylen McCollough are other guys to watch. I’ve actually been told today that bama will gain a commitment from a Db fairly soon.
