I agree. I'm looking for vision and ability/quickness to cut and get up field.

I can't judge Trey Sanders vision because he is always running through holes the size of Texas. Noah Cain seems to have better shiftiness, but for me Jerrion Ealy looks the superior player.

I believe he is a better running back then both IMG "stars". Great vision, great speed and quickness. He can cut immediately and wastes no time getting up field. I'm very impressed.

Yeah. Bama baseball recruited him before football did. He said letting him play both in college is a must and that Ole Miss and Bama are both ok with it. I read it's likely pro baseball will want to draft him out of HS. He said he wants to play college football and will cross that bridge when it comes.

To be fair, not many people visited for Ole Miss' spring game.

I like his film much more then Trey Sanders and Noah Cain. I really don't see how both are rated so much higher than Ealy.

I hope we push hard and flip him.

He plays for Jackson Prep, the most pretentious set of assholes in the state of Mississippi. They feast on shitty competition and have a ton of titles, but the kids that go there are usually huge pieces of entitled shite. I know. I grew up on a select soccer team full of them.

This isn't a knock on Ealy. I'm just remembering my teenage years.

Best of the Best: Adidas 7-on-7 National Championship

quote:

TORRANCE, Calif. - Top performers from Sunday's elimination day of this past weekend’s Adidas 7-on-7 National Championship held right outside Los Angeles.

ALPHA DOG

Austin (Texas) Lake Travis receiver Garrett Wilson had his fair share of highlight-reel catches, often going over defensive backs for 1-on-1 balls, many times at key moments in ball games. Lining up all over the field, the sure-handed Wilson explodes into his route, his ability to separate was evident and he also made things happen after the catch. The nation’s No. 6 receiver per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite may be tabbed too low. What made the weekend performance even more impressive is on day two of the tournament which was the double elimination tourney, the All-American went both ways in helping lead a very talented KB3 team into the Final Four of the tournament.

Ohio State holds the lead over Texas with official visits coming to both this month and a decision expected soon after.

We offered Wilson a couple months ago.

NEXT DOZEN OFFENSE

The most dominant prospect at the event was five-star Georgia commit Jadon Haselwood, who suited up for a Miami Elite team that made it to the round of eight. The 6-foot-3, 187-pound Haselwood manhandled corners, scorched them and dominated them on the 1-on-1 deep ball, an impossible matchup for the top cornerbacks in the country. Like Wilson, the ball skills are what make him special. The 247sports Composite ranks Haselwood as the No. 1 receiver in the country and No. 2 recruit overall. He’ll official to Oklahoma this coming weekend.

There may not have been a receiver relied on more than Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett’s Josh Downs who was a big play guy for Hustle Inc., regularly catching balls in the flats and beating the defense around the corner for big gains. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Peach State standout is approaching double-digit offers with what looks to be plenty more on the way.

Similar to Haselwood, Austin (Texas) Bowie receiver Elijah Higgins was physically impressive, showed he can be dominant in the red zone and also could turn a short catch into a long gain. Higgins will push Wilson as the top receiver prospect in the state of Texas, but was his teammate in this event on a team that has the best group of receivers including David Bell and Jalen Curry who also made their fair share pf plays.

He got banged up late but Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch wide out Darren Jones was a very tough cover on Sunday. At 6-8, he's not just tall but athletic, can make plays through contact and is nearly impossible to stop in jump ball situations. He needs to put on some mass and add strength but his upside is very evident. He also shined in clutch late-game moments for Ground Zero. Oregon is among the schools to impress early.

North Richland Hills (Texas) Richaland receiver Rashee Rice was the big-play guy for a Fast Houston team that went deep in the tournament. At 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, Rice was exciting with the ball in his hands and was Mr. Reliable for the Lone Star State program.

Oakley (Calif.) Freedom athlete Giles Jackson has excelled at every event we've been to- all-combine at Army Combine, RB MVP at The Opening Bay, but he may have been the best we've seen all spring on Sunday. In one game, he had four touchdowns, a 2-point conversion and an interception and neared 20 scores on the day.

South Florida Express was loaded on both sides of the ball en route to the team title, with Top247 receiver Frank Ladson flashing his brilliance over the last 48 hours including on the biggest stage, scoring the first two touchdowns in the title game, a 40-yard bomb where he got behind the defense on the first play and a catch and run for the second one that put the game on ice early. The No. 3 receiver per the 247Sports Composite, Ladson is high on Clemson and Miami among others.

Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O’Dowd Top247 2019 running back Austin Jones continues to show he is one of the nation’s top pass catchers at his position. From diving catches to downfield plays, Jones came up big over and over for KT Prep. Stanford is trending on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic Top247 2020 receiver Gee Scott Jr. was a big reason why FSP made it to the final three, scoring the tying touchdown with 30 seconds left to rally them against KB3. Scott, who visited USC while he was in town, was in double-digits for touchdowns on the weekend. He’ll camp at Notre Dame this summer.

Orange Lutheran (Calif.) wide out Logan Loya was a big reason Premium's Team Dime 2020 squad made a long run on Sunday. Loya gets open so easily and has high level body control, hands and his releases off the line to beat press coverage are as good as you'll see. Arizona State is the first Power Five program to offer.

Camas (Wash.) Union athlete Lincoln Victor might be the most dynamic player in the Northwest- he plays quarterback for his team, but plays receiver in 7on7 and had around a dozen touchdowns on Sunday, and no play was bigger than his winning 2-point conversion with 30 seconds left to put FSP in the semifinals.

Four-star 2020 receiver Chad Johnson put in work on both sides of the ball, was among the events best route runners and reliable pass catchers. The Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice standout grew up liking Oregon but has grown fond of USC. He’ll visit Arizona State soon.

TOP DOZEN DEFENSE

St. Thomas (Fla.) Aquinas four-star safety Jordan Battle was instrumental in South Florida Express’s run to a championship. The instinctual defensive back picked off several passes, jumping routes, covering a lot of space and taking advantage of the opportunity when the ball was in his vicinity. Ohio State is the leader heading into this coming weekend’s visit.

The nation’s No. 3 cornerback Chris Steele was near flawless throughout the tournament for Fast Houston, eliminating his man game after game, which then saw guys like Oregon commit Marques Caldwell and Top248 2020 cornerback Dwight McGlothern be challenged. More often than not, both were up for the challenge with McGlothern in particular having to be among the tournament’s leaders in interceptions.

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei Elias Ricks showed why he’s ranked among the top 2020 corners in the country all weekend. You don’t see too many players with his length, quickness, compete level and ball awareness. He's all of 6-2 with long arms, is very physical and fluid in everything he does. Ricks as the nation’s No. 2 cornerback in the Top247 player rankings and the 247Sports Crystal Call is already trending USC.

South Florida Express was loaded in the secondary. We already talked about Jordan Battle, and Top247 recruits Tyrique Stevenson, Josh Sanguitti and Jaden Davis made plays, but nobody made more than 2019 cornerback Jarvis Brownlee, who added an interception in the championship game. On a team full of blue-chippers the lightly-recruited Brownlee looked the part alongside his peers.

Port Orange (Fla.) Atlantic linebacker Tyler Berrong was active in the middle of the field, snagged a couple of interceptions, was fluid in space and physical with players that came into his area. The 6-foot-2, 212-pound Berrong ranks as the No. 9 outside linebacker in the 247Sports Top247 2020 Player Rankings.

In a pinch, Alabama safety commit Brendan Gant had to play corner and he was outstanding, whether it was playing press or off where he manned his area and closed quickly on receivers or the ball.

Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne 2020 defensive back Brandon Jones was tremendous all weekend and is one of the most instinctive and natural cover corners out West. He has great feet and can shadow a receiver down the field without having to clutch and grab and is very quick breaking on the ball. Many of the Pac 12 programs have already offered.

One of the more physically gifted cornerbacks at the event was Norfolk (Va.) Maury Top247 cornerback Sheridan Jones who is high on Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State.

No one played harder or more passionate then Team 808 and Kahuku (Hawaii) linebacker Miki Ah You was the emotional leader for the team. Ah You plays with a relentless motor, is a physical player and showed the athleticism to run and cover at a high level.

The No. 4 safety in the country Jaylen McCollough broke up passes, picked them off, re-routed receivers, showed range and at times just dominated pass catchers showcasing why he’s sought after. The Hustle Inc. standout by way of Powder Springs (Ga.) Hillgrove spoke highly of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 2020 four-star cornerback Darion Green-Warren made the biggest play of the day for Ground Zero in beating Premium, breaking up a pass, and that was typical for his day, breaking up passes, showing great closing speed and instincts.

Geron Hargon talks Alabama Visit

quote:

2020 LB prospect, Geron Hargon, visited Alabama this weekend and it was quite the experience.

“I loved everything about Bama,” Hargon said. “From sitting in on the defensive meeting and learning more about the defense, to watching the first spring scrimmage.”

Hargon is a product of Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He visited Alabama on this weekend and got to see The Crimson Tide compete in their first scrimmage of the Spring. Many things stood out to Hargon about Alabama, including some of the coaches that are new to Alabama’s staff.

“Coach Golding has a lot of knowledge and it would be great developing as a linebacker under him,” Hargon said. “I love Coach Lupoi’s energy. He also gave a great recruiting pitch.”

The Louisiana-native also got the opportunity to connect with other Alabama targets, including one of their latest commits.

“It was also great talking to guys like Christian Harris and Paul Tyson,” Hardon added. “With me being a grade younger, hearing about their recruiting process thus far was huge.”

Hardon plans to be back on campus sometime next season.

Tyson earned his way onto the list with an MVP performance at the Mobile stop of the circuit. The recent Alabama commitment is the great grandson of former legendary Tide coach Bear Bryant, but make no mistake, he earned his offer from the Tide and the hardware he collected at the event. Tyson is known for his consistency and he showed it in Mobile.

The underclassman showed his skills side-by-side with some of the top quarterbacks in the 2019 and 2020 classes and proved that he more than belongs with the best prospects at his position and in the nation. A two-sport star who will have plenty of options in both football and baseball, Uiagalelei already has offers from USC, Alabama, Florida State and several others.

LSU making a strong push to flip Auburn WR commit

quote:

LSU after 4-star Auburn WR pledge George Pickens

BUFORD, Ga. — Consider March 17 a turning point in LSU’s 2019 recruiting board.

In the midst of the team’s first scrimmage of the spring and one of the busier junior days on the calendar, the LSU coaches extended an offer to 4-star Alabama wide receiver George Pickens, a prospect committed to rival Auburn that was not even on campus. Clearly, Pickens’ tape did enough to garner their attention.

Since offering the big-bodied 6-foot-5, 190-pound Pickens in mid-March, the LSU staff has been attempting to initiate daily communication. When asked about which schools were pushing hardest for a flip, he could not go without mentioning both Georgia and LSU. More specifically, the Tigers’ recent push caught his attention.

“We just started communicating. When we did, they broke it down and what they would do to provide for me,” Pickens told SEC Country. “I plan on getting down there for a visit sometime this spring.”

That’ll be a major first step in LSU’s pursuit of Pickens.

Despite being committed to Auburn, the Hoover (Ala.) High School product remains open to taking visits elsewhere. Georgia has hosted Pickens twice since he gave a verbal pledge.

Baton Rouge seems like a likely destination at some point in the next few months — whether it’s for a spring practice, game or camp. However, the 4-star prospect insisted that he remains solid to Auburn and is only doing his due diligence with communication and visits elsewhere.

“Oh, it’s very firm right now,” Pickens said. “I still look at other colleges just to view the experience, but that’s pretty much it.”
