From the Auburn board:

quote:

KN has update on 3* RB Harold Joiner. He says despite fact his area is very pro Alabama it's not gonna influence his decision. Important to note Bama has not offered so easy to say that now... His top 2 are AU & LSU. Says he's closest with Tim Horton and Ed Oregeron. Plans to visit both schools again but AU has edge in that category because it's closer. Says he is also talking with Florida, Georgia, Memphis and South Carolina and might visit the Dawgs soon tho he doesn't have an offer. AU trying to get him back on campus for a practice and/or A-Day. Says probably won't commit until December

Hank says an offer could come this summer.

Apparently Bama is trying to get 4* RB Asa Martin to visit. Their interest might be rising but as of now still AU/UF battle. Also Martin has admitted he was a little miffed at AU taking so long to offer so have to think that would hurt Bama too if they tried to jump into the fray but we will see

Hank said he may be at practice this weekend.

Asa Martin, having grown up in Alabama, always liked Auburn. It's a school he badly wanted to offer him.

But as he waited for it to come, it "did sting a little bit," the 4-star running back from Decatur (Ala.) Austin admitted during an interview with the SEC Recruiting Buzz podcast.

For Martin, the wait ended in February.

Not long after Chip Lindsey became Tigers offensive coordinator, he offered. Now, Auburn is locked in a battle with Florida and a decision could come in the near future.

At this time, the Gators lead.

Martin's relationship with Florida coach Jim McElwain and running backs coach JaJuan Seider is a big reason why.

"Florida is one of the top up-coming programs,” Martin said. “I really like Coach Mac and they’re building something special over there.”

As for Lindsey, Martin communicates with him often and that is keeping Auburn very much in the game.

"He's a real cool guy, too," Martin said. "He's from the north Alabama area, so we definitely have some ties. Our relationship is going pretty smooth. I talk to him more than any coach right now."

How would Auburn use Martin in the offense?

"They want to use me running the ball and catching the ball out of the backfield -- and catching the ball in the slot," Martin said. "I can do all those things well."

Martin will visit Auburn on April 8 for A-Day.

I'm not sure how I feel about Martin. Yes, he's an in-state kid which is always nice, but he transferred from IMG Academy because Trey Sanders overtook him on the RB depth chart down there. If he can't handle splitting carries in high school how is he going to make it in college?

When Auburn offered Clay Webb in 2015, few knew of the 2019 offensive lineman from Oxford (Ala.). Now, he's one of the top recruits in the country for his class -- and is possibly the best 2019 lineman out there. Programs such as Alabama and Georgia also have offered and at Sunday's The Opening Atlanta Regional, Webb impressed with his size, strength, footwork, aggressiveness, punch and grit. What makes Webb special and where do things stand with his recruitment? Keith Niebuhr and Kipp Adams give you a breakdown.

I know I'm posting a lot of stuff from Auburn sites, but to be quite honest with everyone, their mods are currently kicking the shite out of ours when it comes to delivering content.

It's not even close.

Another Auburn post:

AU trying to make a push for 4* LB JJ Peterson. He names Bama his leader at The Opening with Oregon and UGA in the next group. He is planning on attending A-Day for what might be his first visit. Apparently staff thinks once they get him on campus and spends time with T-WILL we can become a factor. Lots of work to be done to get into this race but getting him on campus would be a big first step

Richard Jibunor has only played high school football for two seasons, but he's already racked up 14 college scholarship offers.

"It's going awesome, I thank God," Jibunor told AL.com Sunday at Nike's The Opening Atlanta regional camp. "It's a little bit busy, but at the same time it's a good feeling."

Jibunor is originally from Nigeria and moved to the United States in 2014 to attend Athens Christian School in Georgia as a foreign exchange student. He grew up playing soccer and basketball before picking up football his sophomore year in 2015.

"Coming to a new country on my own without my family wasn't really easy, but I thank God for the school that I'm in and the family I stay with," he said. "They're awesome. The Brown family took me in and they really take very good care of me. My school, they all treat my like their own, so I really enjoy it a lot."

The 6-foot-3, 206-pounder is ranked as the nation's No. 64 athlete in the 247Sports Composite and plays both linebacker and defensive end. During The Opening on Sunday, he was named the Most Valuable Player on the defensive line despite being just a three-star prospect. Offensive linemen had problems keeping him from blowing past them all day.

Jibunor has no leaders or favorites at this time, but he said he's closer to the coaching staffs at Auburn and Alabama than any other schools. He's made more visits to Auburn than anywhere else.

"They've got a good football program and they're a good academic school too," Jibunor said of Auburn. "The coaches are nice. I have a very good relationship with the coaches.

"They like my athleticism, my length and how fast I can move. I'm really raw -- I'm still learning the game a lot. I'm ready to learn. They like my personality and how much I show them I really want to learn. After I worked with them last summer they saw what kind of person I was. They really like my measurements and speed."

Auburn already has two Nigerian players on the roster -- offensive linemen Prince Tega Wanogho Jr. and Prince Michael Sammons. Jibunor has met both and become close with Wanogho.

"I talk to Junior a lot, almost every time," Jibunor said. "He tells me what's going on with him. He's like a big brother to me. He just checks on me a lot, how a brother should. I like his personality. He's ready to carry me along and be there for me the whole time."

Jibunor said he's "sure" he will be at Auburn's A-Day spring scrimmage April 8. He had planned a recent trip to Alabama, but it fell through.

"I'm planning on going there sometime soon," Jibunor said. "I know they've been very good. I've known about the program for a long time. So when the offer came it was like 'Oh, wow.' The coaches talked to me. I talked to Coach Saban, he was very good. He likes me. Coach Jeremy Pruitt, he likes me too. We talk on the phone every time and checks on me a lot."

Jibunor plans to make his commitment this summer before his senior season gets underway. Until then, he plans on continuing to learn the game of football.

"I'm not sure I'll ever know football completely," he said. "I just want to keep on learning.

"My mom knows I'm out here doing great and she knows I have dreams of going to college. All she wants for me is just to get a good education. That's the main reason why she wanted me to come over here. So on Friday nights I'm chasing my dream of trying to go to college. It's a very good feeling and it puts her in a very good place."

I mean, he just played in the national championship against Oregon, so he’s real cool and understands you. He’s young like you. He came through Auburn. He knows it.”

SOUTH

Top Newcomer: Channing Tindall

Tindall is an athletic specimen who is new to the Scout 300. He was the top overall tester at The Opening Atlanta on Sunday with a 125.25 Nike+ Football Rating. He spends time at defensive end and linebacker on tape, but when standing up he closes on the football in a flash and has the power to finish off plays. He has also been a hot recruit recently picking up offers from schools like LSU, Notre Dame, Florida and Georgia. He has an extremely high upside.

Highest Riser: Terrace Marshall

Marshall was already slated to move up and add a fifth star before he even had a dominating showing at The Opening New Orleans, but that showing only solidified what puts him in the race to be the No. 1 overall wide receiver prospect in the nation, an honor that he will be able to showcase for at The Opening Finals. Marshall has a well-rounded skill set and will draw some comparison to former UnderArmour All-America Game legend A.J. Green. Like Green, Marshall is slated to play in the UA Game in January. He has everything you are looking for to be a top playmaker at the position.

Significant Mover: Justin Rogers

Picking up a fourth-star and moving into the Top 150 is the athletic specimen from Bossier City (La.) Parkway, who has been terrorizing the camp scene over the past couple of weekends with top performances at The Opening New Orleans and the UnderArmour Dallas, where he has showcased above average arm strength and the ability to place the football into a window. On tape, he is a dangerous runner. He has a tremendous frame at 6-foot-4, 198 pounds and looks like he could bulk up easily in college.

EAST

Top Newcomer: Shaquon Anderson-Butts

Anderson-Butts was already a four-star prospect, but now he moved into the Scout 300 and is the No. 260 prospect in the nation. He has big-play ability and he uses his body well to shield defenders. He is strong-handed and quick getting out of his breaks. He is a regular visitor to Penn State, but is exploring a lot of schools. He is set to visit Oregon on April 26, and he is also planning trips to West Virginia, Louisville and Kentucky.

Highest Riser: Eyabi Anoma

Anoma, a defensive end from Baltimore St. Frances, only played a year of high school football but he has the makings of a tremendous player. His upside is huge, and it begins with his explosion off the line of scrimmage. He can bend, dip his shoulder and get around the edge, and plenty of schools noticed. His who's-who offer list includes Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and UCLA.

Significant Mover: Leddie Brown

Brown, a running back from Smyrna (Del.) High, uses his size, speed and instincts to overwhelm a defense. He accelerates through the hole well, and he is tough to arm tackle. He sets up his blocks well and he is patient. He made a recent visit to Florida, which last month, and also visited Tennessee, which offered, and Temple. Maryland, West Virginia, Louisville, Boston College and Cincinnati also extended offers to Brown.

MIDWEST

Top Newcomer: Aeneas Hawkins

Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller defensive tackle Aeneas Hawkins is the highest debut in the 300. He was a kid who picked up a lot of offers on the strength of camps last offseason, but that was before he had played a ton of meaningful snaps at Moeller. Well, he went out as a junior and definitely silenced any doubt that he was worthy of those scholarship opportunities and added to his list in the process. He is an athletic, disruptive interior guy who could continue to rise in the rankings/ .

Highest Riser/Significant Mover:

The Midwest is a little behind everyone else in terms of camps, because of the weather, so major NIKE Opening Regionals and Under Armour camps will not be until April. Hence, the top 50-150 guys in the region largely stayed the same.
