I don't think it's him seeing as he got the official offer this morning.
I'm wondering if it is Bobby Brown.

Obviously a reason to stop. Not because we weren't leading. Bama doesn't do that.

Andrew Booth explodes with Alabama, Clemson and Georgia offers
quote:
THE LATEST: What a week it was last week for Andrew Booth. The 6-foot, 185 pound cornerback in the 2019 class out of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer added offers from Alabama, Clemson and Georgia in a three day span.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: "Those offers I got last week came as a big surprise because of the timing," said Booth. "I really thought those schools would offer me, but I thought they would come in the future. I camped at Alabama and Clemson this summer, but I took a visit over to Georgia recently, so I knew all three schools were interested in me. One offer after another definitely came as a surprise to me though."
ALABAMA: "At Alabama, I got a little workout in with their coaches and their coaching style really stood out to me. I did not get to see too much, but I really like coach [Derrick] Ansley (defensive backs) and the way he coaches. I like how serious Alabama is about football. They work hard to win and many dream of suiting in that Alabama uniform."
CLEMSON: "I worked out at the Clemson camp, I got the tour and I had a good time. It is beautiful up there, I really like coach [Dabo] Swinney's style of coaching and they have some good things going on there. The atmosphere there is something I really like there. I have been there a few times there and it is just nice."
GEORGIA: "I was over at Georgia for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I had a good time. It was my first time there and I got to hang out with the coaches, I saw the facilities and it was nice. They have brought in some good players the last few years and that is nice. I got some time with coach [Kirby] Smart and coach [Mel] Tucker (defensive coordinator) while there, so that was cool too."
ON FAVORITES: "I grew up a fan of Alabama and Clemson. I have watched a lot of their games. I just like how they play, the players that have played there and I have liked watching them for a while. Now, I would say Clemson and South Carolina stand out the most. I have good relationships with the coaches at South Carolina and I like the family-feel there."
EARLY DECISION: "I would like to commit as soon as I feel ready. I do not see it happening this season, but I think by next spring, I will be committed to someone. I want to get recruiting overwith as early as I can, then just focus on Archer and my teammates."
RIVALS TAKE: Look for Booth to be on the road as much as he can this fall taking in games and seeing how he fits into systems. He is one that wants to put the recruiting process behind as quickly as he can. He is a cornerback with great size and ability, so look for his name to continue to pick up steam and he is likely to become a national name before all is said and done.

5-star K.J. Henry talks top five, official visits & more
quote:
Five-star K.J. Henry has cut his extensive offer sheet down to five schools. The Clemmons (N.C.) West Forsyth defensive end goes in-depth on his final five contenders, where the process goes from here, and what kind of role his father, UNC-Charlotte running backs coach Keith Henry, is playing in his recruitment.
IN HIS OWN WORDS…
Alabama- “I've felt comfortable with them for a very long time now,” Henry said. “Their staff, the players, their vision for each year, and everything they do down there they treat it so professionally and I feel like you're already there when you see how they are running things. I really like that aspect of what they're doing.”
Clemson- “I think they're just going up as a program and that speaks to how they're recruiting and everything they've been doing since the National Championship,” he said. “Their recruiting class is crazy stacked right now with so much talent. My good friend Xavier (Thomas) is there and I'm building a good relationship with Trevor (Lawrence) as well. The coaches down there have been really good to me. Coach Swinney, coach Venables, and coach Bates have all built relationships with me throughout this process but, at the same time, they give me my space when I need it and still stay in contact with me. To take that time out of their schedule and show me how important I am to them I definitely appreciate. They've obviously been a big school for me throughout the recruiting process.”
Georgia- “They just got a guy I know really well in Zamir White,” said Henry. “I see why he committed. Out of the schools in my top five, I would say Athens is the best college town I've visited. It's a very clean, nice place and everybody loves their football. Coach Smart is a great, humble guy and he's really doing it the right way. He reminds me of a mix between coach Swinney and coach Saban. I think he's that middle ground. All the other guys and the support staff have been keeping up with me as well. I definitely like to talk to them.”
South Carolina- “What's helping South Carolina with me is that I can make an immediate impact there,” he said. “I know that, if I were to commit there, I could be one of the top guys on the field with a good offseason of training. I could get a lot of reps. That's no disrespect to the guys that have on the field right now but, with my abilities and the way they want to use me in that system, I'm pretty comfortable understanding that I could have a big impact early. Coach Muschamp has taken my recruitment into his hands. To have the head coach personally recruiting me even though he is a very busy guy shows how important I am to that school.”
Virginia Tech- “Tre Turner, a really good friend of mine, and DJ (Crossen), and all these other cats from North Carolina are going up there and that's a really big deal to me,” Henry said. “I've known and grown up with a lot of these guys and they’re seeing a lot of the same things I'm seeing in the school. It's how they treat you and their fan base. They show a lot of love to me. When I talk to my dad about this stuff I can't let that be a big deal to me but at the same time I'm enjoying it. The coaches are really coming after me. Coach Wiles and coach Fuente are always hitting me up. Those are things that are attracting me to that school."
Which school are people underestimating?- “I have to say Virginia Tech,” he said. “I'm honestly taking all five of these schools into consideration and making it to the top five is a big deal. I feel like no school has a leg up at this point. They've been successful these last few years and they're trying to take this next step. To have these fans and to show all the love to me that they are, it's really an eye-opening experience for me. People are definitely underestimating them with me.”
On the next step in the process- “It's a little sad to say but we haven't even made much progress on planning out my official visits,” said Henry. “Now that football season is coming up, we're in two different places right now. My dad is worried about his season (at UNC-Charlotte) and I'm worried about mine. We're just going to have to sit down and talk about what we're going to do about these visits because it's all right around the corner. I do know that these five schools will be my official visits.
“The goal, and I'm 90-percent sure of this, is that I'm going to enroll early,” he said. “The main goal is to commit and sign in December. If I have to wait because we're taking too long in this process then so be it but the worst thing that I could do is make the wrong choice and then have to back out of it. I just need to make sure I make the right choice the first time.”
On the role his dad is playing in the process- “I think half of my dad is still making sure that I'm looking at the big picture, doing my research, and making sure I'll get a good education and get to the next level,” Henry said. “The other half is making sure that I'm making the right decisions as an 18-year-old and building that trust. As far as the recruiting process goes, he's protecting me and making sure nothing crazy is happening but at the same time he is making sure that I see this for myself and trying not to get played while making smart decisions.
“Honestly I haven't really thought about playing with my dad but he told me a long time ago, and we’re on the same page, the first priority is what makes me happy,” he said. “He's my father and I've been blessed to have him in my life. I'm just going to have to do what makes me happy. I'm not planning on transferring to play with my dad. That's not my goal. Once I get to a school, I plan on staying. I know coaches can go anywhere at any time. It would be cool if he ended up at the same school I'm at.
“If a school wants to try to hire my dad to try to get me then that's fine,” said Henry. “There is nothing wrong with that. They're going by the rules. That would take a school's probability of me going there up. I've made it very clear to everybody that I would love to play for my dad. We've had this conversation. If one of these schools in my top five does try to hire him, these colleges know that we are not a package deal. It's not a guarantee. It's still my decision but it would definitely play into any school's hands if they ended up hiring my dad.”
RIVALS’ REACTION
Henry is certainly taking his time with his recruitment. Official visits will be key for each of these schools and the timing of each of them is just as important. It will be very hard for Henry to bring his father along with him if he takes official visits during the season, like he previously said he wanted to. It will also be hard for him to wait until after the season to take official visits because there isn’t much time between when he finishes playing and when early enrollees need to sign. There is definitely a lot Henry and his family need to work out but all of these schools have been doing a great job with Henry and his family. It’s hard to pinpoint the deciding factor because it will likely be a combination of things. A lot of his decision will have to do with how he will be used on the field. Henry has great relationships with players and coaches at all five schools but one of the big wildcards could be a potential job offer for his father. Many schools have been known to go this route in the past.

Alabama offer changes things for Georgia DB
quote:
THE LATEST: It was a good week for 2019 defensive back Jalyn Phillips. The 2019 prospect out of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer added a couple of new offers, one being from Alabama. He recently was over in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) to workout for the Crimson Tide coaches, then on Friday July 28, Phillips found out he had an offer from Alabama.
That changed things for him. Any time Alabama offers a prospect in the South, it catches their attention, and it is no different with Phillips. The Crimson Tide made a big move with this offer.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: "I went to Alabama for a private workout with coach [Derrick] Ansley (defensive backs) about a week and a half ago, so I knew they were interested in me," said Phillips. "It was my first time at Alabama, so I got to see things, I got to meet some of the coaches and I got to work one-on-one with coach Ansley.
"It is Title-town down there. Everything is Alabama. Everyone loves Alabama and it was amazing there.
"The coaching staff caught my attention the most. They take things very serious and they really love their players. They are out to be the best.
"Coach [Tosh] Lupoi (linebackers) is the recruiting coach for my area, so he contacted my coach, then I spoke with him about the offer. He set up my private workout too, so coach Lupoi has been the main coach for me. I was very excited when I found about the offer.
"This offer definitely moves Alabama up on my list. Any time they offer, they will make a move. Clemson has been my favorite school, and then it was some other schools, but the Alabama offer pushes them up there very close to Clemson.
"Alabama likes my size, they like how I move and they think I can play strong safety or nickel in their scheme. They even mentioned cornerback too. I will be getting back over there for a game now this season."
RIVALS REACTION: When it comes to schools that have offered, Alabama is now the favorite for Phillips. He is a big Clemson fan, and he wants that offer, but the Tigers are in the evaluation process with Phillips. At one time he thought he might commit to a school this summer, but he has decided to slow things down and take more time. A decision is still likely to come at some point during his junior year. He has over 20 offers and more are expected to come in once some junior film gets out this fall.

It's Teair Tart-Spencer from East Mississippi Community College. He was kicked out of EMCC Monday for reasons not yet released and no longer has an offer from Alabama. It sucks because he was a huge target for us at DT.

Alabama's top 20 highest-rated commits since 2008
Believe it or not, Alabama has not signed the nation's No. 1 overall prospect in the Nick Saban era. Running back Najee Harris was that on the 247Sports composite for most of the cycle, but dropped below a pair of offensive tackles.
Here, we look at the top 20 highest-rated high school signees for Alabama since the 2008 signing class. All of them are five-star recruits and many five-stars such as Jonah Williams, O.J. Howard and Robert Foster didn't make the cut. We went by the 247Sports composite rankings, which calculated 247Sports, Rivals, ESPN and Scout. 247Sports wasn't yet in existence in 2008, but still has composite rankings.

It's so freaking weird that Clemson is now a school kids grew up cheering for all over the country. That's what consistently winning gets you but it's going to take some time for me to adjust to that

20. LB Mack Wilson (2016 - 15th nationally)
The Carver-Montgomery standout had a top three of Alabama, Georgia and Florida. He dropped Florida late after the Gators didn’t communicate well with his mother.
Wilson at Alabama
The 6-foot-2, 236-pound Wilson had eight tackles in 15 games, making his mark on kick coverage. He actually caught a 1-yard touchdown pass when he was in as an extra blocker on goal line sets. Wilson is contending for a bigger role on the Alabama defense this fall.

19. LB Rashaan Evans (2014 - 15th nationally)
Alabama edged Auburn, where Evans’ father Alan played, in a hotly-contested recruiting battle. The win was sweeter for Alabama after an Auburn signee bio page of Evans was leaked. Evans was a five-star recruit in Auburn’s backyard at Auburn High School.
Evans at Alabama
Now a senior, Evans is in line to be a full-time starter for the first time in his career as a middle linebacker. He had 53 tackles and four sacks as a junior, including 11 in the national championship game against Clemson.

18. DB Dee Milliner (2010 - 14th nationally)
Milliner committed to Alabama early in the process over Auburn, Georgia and others. He was the state of Alabama’s top prospect in the class of 2009 from Stanhope Elmore.
Milliner at Alabama
Milliner had six interceptions in his three-year career at Alabama, leaving after a 2012 All-America season and becoming the No. 9 overall pick by the New York Jets. His NFL career has been a bust as Milliner has been hampered by injuries and he is currently a free agent.

quote:
17. DB Dre Kirkpatrick (2009 - 13th nationally)
The Gadsden City tall cornerback committed to Alabama on Signing Day, throwing a Texas hat aside while saying it didn’t have enough swag.
Kirkpatrick at Alabama
The lean, athletic Kirkpatrick won two national championships for the Crimson Tide in 2009 and 2011. He was an impact player, earning second team all-SEC honors twice. Kirkpatrick left after three years and was picked No. 17 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Kirkpatrick has nine interceptions and just signed a five-year, $52 million extension.
Kirkpatrick was a very good player for Alabama - maybe not quite living up to five-star status, but he has gotten better each year in the NFL.

16. LB Dylan Moses (2017 - 13th nationally)
Moses earned a scholarship offer from Nick Saban as an eighth-grader. He was committed to LSU for two years, but backed off that and committed to Alabama on an official visit, not long after LSU fired Les Miles. Moses visited LSU late, but it wasn’t enough.
Moses at Alabama
The 6-foot-3, 232-pound Moses is built like a college veteran and enrolled at Alabama for spring practice. His size and talent will be tough to keep him off the field even as Alabama returns several veterans at linebacker.
