Love the way Tanner McKee dissected the defense in that last game. Patient. Took what he was given and picked his spots.
Parents complained on the sideline, but he was effient -- and he won the game.

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Emil Ekiyor was supposed to make a visit to Tuscaloosa last month but ended up canceling two trips to Alabama. It’s not the easiest place for him to get to on a budget because he lives in Indianapolis.
Ekiyor, a 4-star Michigan offensive guard commit from Cathedral High School, told SEC Country at The Opening Finals on Monday that despite his canceled trips to Alabama, the Crimson Tide is “pretty much” the only other team he’s considering at this point.
“The track record they have of getting guys into the league,” Ekiyor said for why he’s still considering Alabama. “That’s what Alabama is all about. They also have one of the best coaching staffs in the business.”
The nation’s No. 4 offensive guard said Alabama’s coaching staff has been reaching out to him about setting a visit to Tuscaloosa later this month for the team’s invite-only cookout event on July 21. The Champions Cookout is the Crimson Tide’s premier recruiting event of the summer where the majority of the team’s top targets are all on campus.
Ekiyor said he’s not sure if he’ll make the trip just yet, but he does want to make it back to Tuscaloosa to make sure Michigan is the school he wants to attend on the next level.
“I’m pretty solid right now, but I could potentially take another visit to Alabama just to make sure and clear things up with my commitment,” Ekiyor said.
The state of Indiana’s No. 1 overall prospect said he has a really good relationship with offensive line coach Brent Key. Key actually reached out to Ekiyor to wish him well at The Opening before he arrived in Oregon.
“He’s been talking to me a lot and it definitely matters to me that they’re still showing interest in me,” Ekiyor said. “They’ve been recruiting me through everything.”
The reason why Ekiyor chose Michigan and why he’s still committed to the Wolverines boils down to two reasons — education and his relationship with the coaching staff.
“I feel like Coach (Jim) Harbaugh is the best in the business — really the whole coaching staff is the best in the business,” Ekiyor said.
Ekiyor, along with 4-star prospects Penei Sewell and Jerome Carvin are Alabama’s top offensive guard targets in the Class of 2018.

Micah Parsons will finally get to see the program he's been told he should see when he visits Alabama in two weeks.
The nation's No. 4 prospect decommitted from Penn State in April. Parsons, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound five-star defensive end, has mostly been linked to Ohio State, but has been heavily recruited by Alabama.
He'll make the trip from Harrisburg, Pa., to Tuscaloosa from July 15-17.
"(We want to) see what it's all about," Parsons said at Nike's The Opening finals in Beaverton, Ore., on Sunday. "I've never been there. All I've heard is Alabama is this, Alabama is that, why don't you go to Alabama?
"Alabama is a No. 1 contender and always a championship team. I want to see their development, how can they benefit me, how can they use me because I'm a man who can be used in many ways besides defensive end."
Parsons has worked as an outside linebacker in this setting. Outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi has been Parsons' primary recruiter.
"Top contenders, development, how they can endlessly put players in the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 rounds of the NFL Draft," Parsons said of why he likes Alabama. "They always have top picks. Alabama's just that team."
Parsons hasn't ruled out Penn State since his decommitment. He has visited Nebraska. Michigan is a factor and schools like Clemson and Georgia are also in the mix.
Alabama added another touch to his recruitment earlier this year, but he wasn't buying it.
"Coach Tosh said we still (looking at you at) running back, but I'm thinking, 'You've got Bo, you've got Damien Harris, you've got Najee (Harris).' I don't know how that is going to go. Talk is cheap. They'll tell you anything you want to hear."
Parsons plans to make a commitment sometime in January.

Owen Pappoe made The Opening history last summer when he became the first rising sophomore to earn an invitation to Nike's event in Beaverton, Ore.
As one of the top prospects in the 2019 class, Pappoe again was selected for the event. The 6-foot, 210-pound Pappoe earned several major offers before his freshman year at Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., including Auburn.
Pappoe said Sunday that he visited Auburn about four weeks ago.
"It was cool," the five-star recruit said. "I spent a whole bunch of time with (linebackers) Coach (Travis) Williams watching film with him. He got to meet my family for the first time so it was real cool."
Pappoe said he's just "been chilling" this summer and has also visited Georgia, Florida, Florida State and Miami. After The Opening, he's likely done with visits for the summer.
Pappoe is ranked as the nation's No. 6 overall prospect in the class of 2019. Alabama, Georgia and Clemson have also offered.
But Auburn should feel good about its chances.
"They've always been one of my top schools though I don't talk about them much," Pappoe said.
"The relationships I have with the coaches over there, it's real tight. I know if I were to go there, they would take care of me and I would play a big part of their defense."

Alabama still has a chance to flip four-star offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor from Michigan.
But for now, the 6-foot-3, 335-pound Ekiyor is all maize and blue.
Ekiyor, the nation's No. 108 overall prospect and No. 4 offensive guard, earned an offer from Alabama on his visit earlier this year. He committed to Michigan last October.
He hasn't been able to return to Tuscaloosa yet. He was on scheduled visit lists, but had to back out. He said Monday at The Opening finals in Beaverton, Ore., that he could return in late July, but nothing was set in stone yet.
Alabama will sign a smaller offensive line class, with possibly just three signees at the position. Ekiyor is one of Alabama's top targets.
"I feel like they've made me a priority lately," Ekiyor said. "I talk to Coach (Nick) Saban a lot, stuff like that. They've been recruiting me pretty hard."
He said his last chat with Saban came two weeks ago.
"Just that I fit in their program and I'll be able to play early, things like that to persuade me," Ekiyor said. "It was a nice place, nice facilities, nice people. It's 'Bama, so it was really nice."
Alabama is recruiting him as a guard and center, but the Indianapolis, Ind., native hasn't wavered from his Michigan pledge.
"Michigan just felt like home when I was up there," Ekiyor said. "They showed me the most belief in my, they offered me first. I had a great feeling with the coaching staff."
What could convince the touted offensive lineman to flip?
"I'm not even sure," Ekiyor said. "If I feel it in my heart, then it's meant to be, but I haven't had that feeling yet."

It's complicated.
If McKee was a true Class of 2018 prospect, I'd probably say him.
However, due to his mission trip and being out of football for 2 years it makes me want to say Corral.
Corral has a stronger arm and looks like he is built more solidly. He's also a thug.
McKee has the frame to grow into a monster, but he's also a high character guy.
I like Corral's film more, but don't want to deal with the potential character issues he might display down the road.
Having said that, I really want to land Corral.
Having a prick at QB who doesn't give a shite who he offends would be fun.

Greg Emerson just committed to Tennessee out of the blue on the NFL Network while discussing his injury.
I hope he fully recovers and wish him luck in his future endeavors.

There are so many elite QBs that are high on us in the 2018-2020 classes, that I hope we will only sign one.

BEAVERTON, Ore. - This is Jacob Eason vs. Shea Patterson all over again.
Except this time it's Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields battling for the No. 1 quarterback spot in the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings, which this cycle doubles as the top prospect in America regardless of position.
Eason led for much of the process back in 2016 before Patterson overtook him at the very end. Talking to my colleague Barton Simmons on Monday afternoon as we continued to watch the two 2018 signal-callers, the 247Sports Director of Scouting believed Lawrence has a better chance of holding off Fields than Eason did. However, after what we saw from Fields out West, making the move is something both of us are certainly thinking strongly about.
What we can't forget regardless of everything we've seen this camp season is that the 6-foot-6, 200-pound Lawrence has played in three state championships and led Carterville (Ga.) High to the last two titles. Barring injury he will head to Clemson as the Peach State's all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns, breaking another former Tigers records in DeShaun Watson. Lawrence has been No. 1 since we debuted our class-of-2018 rankings and what he's done in-between the lines in 11-on-11 football is as impressive as any quarterback prospect in recent memory.
And just like Eason, for the longest time Lawrence's spot at No. 1 at his position felt completely safe. All the schools recruiting Fields now, targeted Lawrence first.
But Fields keeps getting better and better.
Fields waited his turn behind South Carolina signee Lorenzo Nunez at Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison. In his first season as the starter last fall he completed 69 percent of his passes for 2,253 yards and 18 touchdowns. He added another 977 yards rushing and 14 more scores. Strong numbers but nothing like the win totals or stats Lawrence has put up. However this spring Fields showed off his terrific athleticism including a 4.51 laser-timed 40-yard dash at The Opening Regional in Orlando. He's going to be a dynamic guy on the next level. And with each passing 7-on-7 tournament Fields looked better and better with The Opening Finals being his best work.
With a ton of weapons around him, the 6-foot-3, 221-pound Fields made it look easy from the very first snap, spreading the ball around to the likes of Penn State commit Justin Shorter, Kamryn Babb, Josh Vann, tight end Luke Ford and others en route to earning 247Sports MVP honors. The poise, how he was able to quickly slow things down, seeing the field so well and taking care of the football, in addition to his physical tools were second to none this weekend. Lawrence performed in the top third of the group but he wasn't on Fields level in this tournament.
We still have the coming fall and then the All-America Bowl season to continue comparing these two as this storyline is nowhere close to resolved.

Where does Fields end up?
The former Penn State commit is strongly considering Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Georgia, with the plan to take official visits in the fall before deciding.
Fields did a recent overnight visit to Gainesville and wants to do one next with the Tigers. He's blown away by Jimbo Fisher and enjoyed his summer camp experience in Tallahassee. He's also been over to Athens a couple times since decommitting in early June, as well as at least two trips to see Auburn.
My 247Sports Crystal Ball remains on the Gators. UF hasn't heavily pursued any other quarterback this cycle and several coaches are in daily contact with him and his father.
But there was a mixed bag of folks around Fields that see him going to any of the above schools.

I really liked what I saw from the Miami commits in Oregon, a class that has moved back to No. 1 in the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings.
The country's top-ranked tight end per the 247Sports Composite in Brevin Jordanwas as reliable a pass catcher as there was in the tournament.
It's an extremely talented year at receiver and Mark Pope is right there in the middle of it as one of the best.
Cornerback Josh Jobe has the traits to be a special player in Coral Gables and Al Blades Jr. flashed as well.
Running back Cam'Ron Davis was as good catching the football as any of his peers.
Defensive tackle Nesta Silvera is an absolute pocket pusher with a fourth star coming his way.
Offensive lineman Delone Scaife was consistent in 1-on-1s.
Running back Lorenzo Lingard, receiver Brian Hightower and tight end Will Mallory (injury knocked him out early) had their moments as well. A terrific class is coming Miami's way.
