More from Hank:

3-star TE Glenn Beal camped at LSU today. He was expected to be in Alabama for the duration of camp, so wouldn't be shocked to see him get to Tuscaloosa tomorrow.

Harold Joiner did not make it to campus on Sunday and doesn't know if he'll come this week either.

That doesn't hurt my feelings at all.

Auburn is tied atop the list for Mobile Christian defensive end Andres Fox, but he's not ready to say who the Tigers are tied with just yet.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Fox (first named pronounced An-Dray-us) visited Auburn on Saturday for Big Cat Weekend. His final three are Auburn, Alabama and LSU - with Auburn tied on the top with one of the two.

"(Auburn) showed that they really want me," Fox said. "I told two other schools that I want to visit them first."

He said Saturday that he didn't plan to visit Alabama this week for its camp, but rather on June 17 so he can work with linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi. That's the day of a lineman camp at Alabama.

Fox said that LSU continues to recruit him the hardest.

Fox is a three-star recruit on the 247Sports composite.

Some highlights and notes on Fox following Saturday's trip to Auburn

- He's up to 240 pounds thanks to gains in the weight room, having gained 10 since late March. Coaches rave about his potential if he can add the weight to his 6-foot-5 frame.

- He didn't participate in the pie-eating contest at Big Cat, just the watermelon eating one.

- The best part of the event for him? Watching offensive line coach Herb Hand freestyle.

- Auburn is recruiting Fox at the defensive end/BUCK position. That's where Carl Lawson succeeded and turned into an NFL Draft pick.

- A commitment could come in August before his senior season begins. Fox and Mobile Christian finished as Class 3A runners up last season.

- Auburn showed him "how they really care about their players."

Top performers from LSU's skills camp

quote:

Trey Palmer, WR, 6-0, 165, Kentwood, 2019

Palmer was hands down the best player on hand during the morning session. His ability to release on the line of scrimmage and get downfield quickly is second to none in his class. He tracks the ball exceptionally well and has tremendous body control. I initially ranked Palmer as the no. 8-ranked prospect in his class, and I was off--way off.

Andres Fox’s family now on board with him going anywhere other than Alabama?

When SEC Country’s Benjamin Wolk and I met with Andres Fox at Mobile (Ala.) Christian High School in April, it was clear that Auburn was the favorite to land the 3-star defensive end.

The reason for that was because the Tigers were the first SEC team to offer him a scholarship. Since then, he’s maintained a great relationship with the Auburn staff.

There was a hurdle for Auburn to clear in order to land his commitment, though. Fox’s parents are Alabama supporters, and he has told SEC Country that he believed they wanted him to commit to the Crimson Tide.

After a weekend visit to Auburn for Big Cat Weekend, it looks like Fox’s family is more open to the idea of their son going somewhere other than Alabama.

“I think they really love all of the schools now,” Fox told SEC Country. “They have opened up lately. They feel like wherever I want to go, I can do that.”

Fox is a priority target for Alabama. The Crimson Tide are recruiting him as a “Jack” linebacker. Saban, on a recent Skype call with Fox, told him he thinks he’ll grow into a defensive end.

Defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, Fox’s primary recruiter, has told him that he wants him in Alabama’s 2018 recruiting class and expects to see him represent the “251” (Mobile’s area code) in Tuscaloosa.

Having Alabama prioritize him as much as it is helps because Fox is a Tide fan.

“It definitely matters because I grew up an Alabama fan and have always wanted to play for them,” Fox said.

So, why not commit to Alabama then? His answer could be a sign as to where he may be leaning right now.

“Auburn offered me first and I have a really good relationship with them,” Fox said. “Some people say that the only reason why Alabama offered me was because of Auburn offering. I don’t know about that.”

To be clear: Alabama didn’t offer Fox because Auburn did. That sounds like a message the Tigers’ staff is trying to push across. Auburn has certainly done a great job recruiting Fox, though. For being a lifelong Alabama fan, Auburn has him seriously considering wearing the Tigers’ colors in 2018.

“I would say Auburn, LSU and Alabama are all tied for No. 1,” Fox said. “I really like all of those schools.”

Fox wants to visit LSU, Southern California and Stanford before making his commitment, which will happen before his senior season begins.

Alabama camp news, updates

The media isn’t allowed at Alabama’s recruiting camps, so there aren’t many updates we can offer. But we do know the prospects the Crimson Tide offered this weekend.

Tennessee punter commit Skyler Delong was offered after the Tide’s specialist camp on Saturday:

Some expected visitors this past weekend such as Zamir White, Jalyn Armour-Davis, Justyn Ross, KJ Henry, Jordan Davis, Penei Sewell and Cameron Latu made it to Tuscaloosa. Alabama top tight end target Glenn Beal didn’t make it to town. He visited LSU for the Tigers’ camp instead.

Was told that Sewell, a 4-star offensive lineman from Utah, looked “incredible.” He has the versatility to play either guard or tackle in college. He’s a big target for the Tide. A source on the ground said Sewell loves Alabama and will almost certainly take an official visit to Tuscaloosa this fall.

Could this be the best performance of the camp so far? Master W. Teague III, a 3-star running back from Tennessee, posted some mind-blowing testing numbers on Sunday. He has a top 3 of Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee. He doesn’t have an offer from Alabama yet, but after this performance, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see him add one. White and Martin are Alabama’s top running back targets.

I give God the glory 4 my performance 2day at Nick Saban Camp.

Big Cat Weekend concluded without any commitments, but the Tigers made up a lot of ground on many of its top targets in the nation. All in all, Auburn hosted more than 30 prospects who all have the Tigers among their favorite programs.

As a result, plenty of intel came from interviews following the event.

Check out what SEC Country learned at Big Cat Weekend.

5-star WR Justyn Ross, Central (Ala.)

It was Ross’ first visit with his mother since she returned from her National Guard deployment in Kuwait.

He’ll visit Alabama on Sunday.

Ross still plans to make a National Signing Day commitment.

Auburn’s commitments have made it a priority to recruit Ross.
