Miller, a four-star recruit, said he and Auburn defensive line coach Rodney Garner talk several times a week what he could do for the Tigers.
"He tells me everyday, 'I'm not recruiting you to redshirt you,'" Miller said. "He said, 'If I get you, you're going to be playing as a freshman.' That's a big thing, I'm looking forward to playing early."
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Miller is among the best players in the state for 2018 and was among the large contingent of players to attend Auburn's Big Cat Weekend.
He also attended Auburn's A-Day game and is friends with Tigers freshman linebacker T.D. Moultry.
While Miller described the staff at Auburn as "laid back" during the weekend visit, he knows Garner is demanding on the field.
"When I come in for practice, he coaches his players hard," Miller said, "pushes them to the limit, makes them the best they can be."
Miller, who is also considering Alabama, LSU, Georgia and Ole Miss, said he'll be announcing his top 8 schools soon and indicated Auburn would be in that group.
He grew up an Alabama fan, but will take his time before making his commitment.
"I feel comfortable with a lot of schools," Miller said. "Now it's just making the right choice."

Two of the top prospects set for visits are defensive ends KJ Henry of Clemmons, N.C., and Brenton Cox of Stockbridge, Ga.
Both are five-star recruits. Henry, the nation's No. 15 overall recruit, tweeted that he's in Tuscaloosa. Cox, the No. 22 recruit, told our partner site Cleveland.com that while he is visiting, he is still strong with his Ohio State commitment.
LSU four-star cornerback commit Kelvin Joseph is visiting. He has been committed to LSU for a while, but has strong interest in Alabama.

* 4-star DB Jalyn Armour-Davis from Mobile's St. Paul's
* 4-star LB JJ Peterson from Moultrie, Ga.
