“He’s a pretty prestigious wrestler,” George said. “He won state and actually won two different national titles last year. He’s actually rehabbing a torn MCL from late in the regular season so he actually hasn’t wrestled yet. He’s trying to get back to where he can be, he got cleared, he’ll start wrestling after Christmas, and then he’s trying to just get enough matches in to qualify for regionals. We’ve got a few tournaments set up in January, and then he’s got the SAT.”

He ran an electric 4.76 forty-yard dash, so he has incredible quickness, great leverage, tremendous feet and a lot of strength. All the coaches have talked about his wrestling background. First and foremost his leverage and playing with his hands, and then secondly that mano-a-mano mentality, it’s you and another guy and you can’t blame anyone else if you lose. A lot of coaches really grasp that and praise that.”

Nigel Knott , I'm no insider, but my twins are seniors and have friends that are at Germantown which is where Nigel goes to school. Its in Madison county, which is close to where I live. One of my twins plays baseball and he knows several kids at Germantown as he has been playing ball since he was 4 years old. The other night several of his friends came over and two were from Germantown and know Nigel. I asked them what the deal was with him and where they thought he was going to school and if Nigel was talking. They said that his mom likes Bama but that Nigel was being very quiet about it and they could not say for sure. They said that he mentioned Oregon along with Bama and that Nigel had mentioned Ole Miss in some manner but the guys I talked with, my sons friends got the feeling that is was Bama or Oregon, but would not be shocked if he stayed in MS, but felt like Bama was the school. Now I in no one can say with any guarantee where he will end up, but I know these kids that go to Germantown and they would not lie to me as I coached several of them for years. That being said, I guess Nigel wants to play the recruiting game so we shall see. As NSD draws closer I might can get some info, they guys said they would keep an ear out for me and let me know if they hear or see anything. Just passing this along. Also I have several friends at Clinton Highschool which is across town and can probably get some info on Cam Akers, but that is for next year, so I will wait to ask the guys I know. I coached travel baseball for 9 years in the Jackson MS metro area and my son that plays is a senior this year so he and I just happen to know kids in this age range. Just passing on something, I wish it was concrete for Nigel, but his lips are sealed. They did say that he was blazing fast and has a great vertical, but they have not seen him run against other D1 athletes so take that how you will. They also said he needs to put some weight on and that he is not thick like Landon Collins at all, just using Landon as an example.
