2017 4-star ATH Richard LeCounte committed to Kirby and Georgia.

He had an Alabama offer.

Many top prospects in North Carolina and South Carolina will participate in the Shrine Bowl this week. Here's a look at the top five uncommitted prospects from the state of North Carolina - and two commits who might be considering other options.

RB B.J. Emmons
Morganton (N.C.) Freedom

Emmons isn't exactly looking around and has remained firm in his commitment to Alabama. He just took his ACT this past weekend and needs a high enough test score to make sure he qualifies. That is something prep schools and junior colleges are keeping a close eye on. If he doesn't get the score he needs, Emmons could be looking at going to a prep school or junior college.

I hope he prepared for it.

Actually, it's more likely Morris becomes a grad assistant for us immediately after his eligibility is up. The staff thinks he'll make an excellent coach. Cornwell likely to transfer, some around the program think.

Someone asked Feldman about a Vernon Adams comparison and this is what he replied with:

Both very talented. DP's much taller (legit 6-2) and probably has more speed, but VA did face & torch P12 teams while at EWU.

Next year it will likely be Reuben and Evans at ILB. That's the plan as of now.

I'll put big money Evans doesn't play ILB next season in base defense 3-4. If he played an ILB position it would be Mack for passing downs

Not interested in betting on it. This is from a staffer to one of the guys that I get info from. Evans actually did practice a LOT at ILB this year, and played the position in a few games as a spy on mobile QBs. He's considered very versatile.

Can you imagine our starting LBs next year being:

Ryan Anderson
Tim Williams
Reuben
Evans

With Christian Miller winning Scout team player of the week on D a couple times this year, and beginning to come into his own. Not to mention the young lions coming in. And Hamilton as a good running down LB with experience. Adonis Thomas. Holcombe. Coaches high on McMillon.

Filthy.

Honestly, if we land Davis and Wilson like we should, that's all I'll give a shite about. Lol those 2 will be disgusting if they play beside each other.

I would love to see Evans at an ILB position.

Oregon just got a commitment from a QB out of Texas (Tristen Wallace) so you have to wonder if that is a reaction to them thinking Prukop chooses Alabama, or if that commitment was a surprise and will cause Prukop to choose Alabama anyways.

Definitely. But we actually have Dontavious Jackson rated as the #1 three-down ILB in the country. We couldn't pass him up if he wanted to come.

Bring him on too. Wilson can play SAM and Mack with Davis and Jackson at Mike and Will. Alabama plays more multiple defense than anyone in the country. You're guaranteed to get on the field if you're talented and have a niche.

A top dual threat quarterback from the west choosing Bama over Oregon? That'll never happen!

I honestly want to see Barnett start this year. I do not want Bateman. He just doesn't have what need for a title. Not a great arm, not a visible leader, and just isn't what we need to win it all.

Some dude over on that other site is saying Griffith may not be kicking next year because his graduate classes will be too demanding. Said he spoke to him directly.

All I can say is, Roll Tide Pineiro.

I don't know if he has the intestinal fortitude to bounce back after being skipped over for the starting job this season, but the most physically talented QB on our roster is David Cornwell.

I know he got passed over because of some whining on his part, which led to a demotion, but I am curious to see how he plays in the Spring. Most people assume the race will be between Bateman and Barnett, but Cornwell has the potential to win it as well.

I hope this isn't true. Griffith has been money over the last 2 and a half months.

Yes, we have Pineiro committed and he has an absolute rocket for a leg. However, he has zero, as in ZERO, kicks in a live game situation or an organized practice for that matter. None. Zip. Zilch.

I'd hate to have an untested kicker going into next season. He may end up being phenomenal, but he might suck.
