Now I'm wondering who starts at QB next season.

Bateman is the #2 right now, but Barnett is pretty much our very own "Chosen One". Of course Cornwell still has all that talent and Morris will be a fifth year Senior.

If it happens to be Barnett, it'd be nice to see our California QB starting his first game vs USC in what will be the Game of the Week in primetime.

LOL @ the listed 4.85 40 time for Hurts. When was that taken? 9th grade? He's a freak. About as much a 4.85 guy as Manziel was.

Hurts/Barnett will be a heck of a battle for 3 years or so.

I actually think Hurts will be a better QB than Barnett. I really hope that we can hang on to him.

The Elite 11 MVP versus the QB that got shunned from an Elite 11 invite. As a recruitnik, sometimes we put too much stock in the stars, all-american games, etc. I am excited about it.

It's too bad that next year QB battle will likely be Alex vs Bateman. I'd like to see the Barnett vs Hurts battle sooner.

Rashan Gary has had a few recent picks to Michigan.

I hope he goes there. Better than having to face him.

Hurts has such a quick throwing motion and the ball just jumps out of his hand. I'm excited for the future battles between him and Barnett.

Only thing I've seen him say is that he expects Pruitt to blitz the heck out of us. He's not really made any predictions or anything like that that I have seen.

Our staff reportedly thinks Gary is going to Michigan. I'd be fine with that if we can land Dexter Lawrence. We would still land a filthy DL class with likely a couple super elite guys in that group, while Gary wouldn't sign with any of our rivals. It would also strengthen a program that can give OSU some competition in the Big 10. Goodness knows we don't need them having a free road to the playoffs every year. A good Michigan benefits us, IMO.

According to Rodney Orr, we blew him and his mother away. According to Bama K (from someone who spoke to the assistant recruiting him), we feel extremely good about our chances. He's coming back and bringing more family next month.

Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback commit Jalen Hurts has been electric through the first month of his senior season at Channelview High School in Texas.

His latest effort—a five-touchdown performance, per Gerry Hamilton of ESPN—served further notice Nick Saban landed a dynamic playmaker. The 6'2", 208-pound prospect picked apart opposing defenders Friday night throughout a 56-28 victory over Port Arthur Memorial High School.

Hurts, who pledged to Alabama in June, completed 17 of 25 pass attempts for 234 yards and two touchdowns. He flashed scintillating rushing abilities, gaining another 150 yards and three scores on the ground.

Rated ninth nationally among dual-threat quarterbacks in 2016 composite rankings, Hurts is considered one of the Lone Star State's premier offensive prospects. He continued to validate that reputation against Port Arthur.

Hurts led his offensive attack to more than 600 total yards, delivering a slew of big plays while operating inside and outside the pocket. His longest touchdown of the evening occurred early, as he fired a 37-yard first-quarter strike to start off a high-scoring affair.

His heroics helped push Channelview to a 5-0 record. It's been a highly successful individual campaign to this point, as Hurts opened with a 365-yard, five-touchdown game against Dayton High School, per MaxPreps.

He completed 57 percent of throws during the past two seasons, tallying 4,065 yards, 35 touchdowns and just eight interceptions. Hurts emerged as a major dual threat in 2014, rushing for 951 yards and 19 scores.

His list of scholarship offers also includes Arizona, Kansas State, West Virginia and Mississippi State.

Hurts visited several universities this spring, traveling to Tuscaloosa, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. He committed to Alabama four months after receiving an offer in February.

The program's decision to target another dual-threat talent continues to showcase the direction Alabama may be headed at quarterback.

Hurts would add to a depth chart that currently features promising true freshman Blake Barnett. The 5-star Southern California product can also create opportunities with his mobility.

Both players bring an element of athleticism that hasn't necessarily been present behind center during even the most dominant Crimson Tide campaigns under Saban.

Alabama is enjoying a highly successful recruiting cycle in Texas. Hurts is one of three 4-star recruits who've committed to the Crimson Tide, alongside offensive guard Chris Owens and defensive tackle Kendell Jones.

Terrell Hall, J. Robinson,J. Simmons, and Marlon Davidson...we are only taking two. which two? best shot is Hall, but out of the other three Marlon is committed to the barn but still interested... supposingly. Simmons is a monster but he is a Mississippi boy. And Robinson hard pull from Florida. Hall/Davidson( which would help with the trifecta in state)

If Auburn implodes, Gus and Muschamp are gone and we can get Davis. I don't care who the other one is.
