Gardner announced that he would officially visit five schools this fall: Georgia, Notre Dame, Alabama, Penn State and Florida. The 6-foot, 194-pound Gardner, ranked as the No. 152 overall prospect in the country and a four-star recruit, will visit Alabama for the LSU game and will also see Alabama when he's on his Georgia visit.
"(They like my) passion for the game and physically I bring coming down when I hit anybody in front of me getting to the ball," Gardner said in April about Alabama.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound senior has committed to Alabama, and he teams with junior teammate Nico Collins to make up one of the most explosive wide receiver duos in the country. Simmons hauled in a game-changing 79-yard catch-and-run TD in the 6A title game that showcased his speed, hands, agility and tenacity, and he averaged 22.4 yards per catch last year and added two touchdowns rushing.

Again, frick em.
I for one like knowing where our players are from and what type of competition we went against to get them. It's not like it takes brain surgery to read this thread once a day either.

Thaddeus Moss, TE
School: Mallard Creek in Charlotte, North Carolina
The skinny: The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder is expected to commit to Georgia, but he also had offers from Alabama and Oregon. He is the son of NFL icon Randy Moss.

This thread averages one and a half pages per day with the exception of big camps like The Opening. Most threads on tRant go for at least three pages, and people respond to those.

Jack Walker, QB
School: Madison Central in Madison, Mississippi
The skinny: A 6-foot-3, 210-pound junior, he already has an offer from Miami, while Alabama, Florida State and Georgia have shown interest.

Erroll Thompson, LB
School: Florence (Alabama)
The skinny: At 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, he isn’t exactly built for the pass-only 7-on-7 game. But he is listed on Florence’s roster for this weekend, and it would be interesting to see his pass-coverage skills. He has offers from Alabama, Mississippi State and Kentucky.

Jeremiah Moon, LB
School: Hoover (Alabama)
The skinny: The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder could end up at safety in college, so 7-on-7 could provide a strong barometer for his future. He has offers from a number of SEC schools, including Alabama and Auburn

P.J. Hall, CB
School: Hoover (Alabama)
The skinny: The 5-foot-11, 175-pound senior will get a chance to show his coverage skills against some elite receivers this weekend. He has offers from Mississippi State and Minnesota, and it appears unlikely that he’ll end up at in-state powers Alabama or Auburn.

Greg Little got a CB to OM from their new writer.

Not only am I about to post an article, but the article is from AJC:

If he sticks with the four he mentioned plus UGA, that would be no OV to LSU. Interdasting.

New developments between UGA and Alabama 5-star
quote:
“I know I’m going to take an official visit to Georgia,” Davis said. “It’s because I have so much family there in Georgia. I’ve got uncles, aunts and cousins in Atlanta. Also, when I visited Georgia’s campus last spring, I really liked it. So I’m taking an official there.”
That’s a pretty big deal because last week at The Opening all-star event, Davis told reporters that he will likely take official visits to Alabama, FSU, Auburn and USC. UGA was not mentioned. So now will it likely be those those four and the Bulldogs? “I haven’t really set them (my official visits) yet … but I know I’m going to Georgia,” Davis said. “That’s the only one I know for sure.”

Ben Davis had this to say about taking visits:
same article
quote:
What about that? “My recruiting is wide open,” Davis insisted. “Everybody who offers me, I’m interested in them. So I’m going to take as many visits as I can to see which college is the best fit for me.”

Velus Jones had this to say about going to Dawg Night:
I like his competitive attitude. If spots were available, I'd love for Alabama to offer him over an out of state recruit like Keyshawn Young.
AJC: ABANDON THREAD!
quote:
“I know the top recruits and the top players will be there. I wanted to come to Dawg Night to compete. I feel like I’m just as good as the players there. So that’s why I’m going.”

I appreciate all of the work that you and Saint do in this thread. I like all of the articles and other information that ya'll put in here. If it's something that I don't want to read, then I don't read it.

The problem in this thread is that what might be irrelevant to others is relevant to me and vice versa. I know some that like to hear about the under the radar kids that are in the state of Alabama that we may or may not offer later in the cycle, while others only want to hear updates about the highly ranked recruits. (Gary, Little, Davis, Wilson)
I just put up the info. If anyone doesn't want to read it, then skim it and go to the next post.
And if you ever fall behind this thread and have a question about a particular prospect, feel free to ask it. I will answer to the best of my knowledge even if I posted an article about it a few days ago.

I'd rather have too much info than not enough. Ya'll save me a lot of time and I really appreciate it.

Xavier Kelly will OV to UGA for the Bama game. He says he likes that they are recruiting him at the Buck position, and the depth chart is favorable for him to come in early.
Time to get out the jack linebacker pitch
Also, he got a CB to UGA from the Nebraska writer. Not that that probably means anything...

I don't post all this shite for myself. I'm sure chattabama and others feel the same. I know Magilla does. He's got TSWSNBN, along with our extremely tall friend, that he can post on yet he still brings stuff here.
I guess my main reason for bringing the majority of this stuff here was due to my last 4-5 game day experiences in Tuscaloosa. Listening to uneducated fricks, at least recruiting wise, spew nonsense about our players really struck a nerve with me.
I have literally heard people say that Hightower was the best LB to come out of the state of Alabama in the past 20 years and he's from fricking Tennessee.
I've also heard one idiot say that Mark Ingram was from Mobile.
