This is a blow to Texas considering Jones was a major target at defensive tackle — a position of need. Jones was considered a Texas lean for most of the recruiting process, so this news comes as somewhat a surprise. Jones visited Alabama a few weeks ago and received an offer from Nick Saban a day later.
With Jones likely off the board, Texas will focus on Houston Westside's Jordan Elliott, FW All Saints' Mike Williams, Duncanville's Marcel Southall and Louisiana prospect Glen Logan.

3 more OT's. Bolles (Juco) is high priority. If we can't get him, we feel like we could get Baldwin. Jauan Williams is looking good. We've fallen behind Ole Miss for Willie Allen. We should be getting a visit from Greg Little in June or July. A lot of people were saying that Little's dad felt A&M had hotboxed him into committing there to begin with, and he wasn't happy about that.
As far as Thompson, redfish says that he'll have to come to camp to earn an offer.
