Business is picking up.
Though with Harris deciding on the 9th, I guess the biggest discussions up until NSD after the 9th will be about whether we can hang on to the top guys.

I don't think we are in danger on any of flips of our 5 stars. We will see lower guys flip Imo. It's gray shirt season. I think we add another big name surprise.

Minkah gives me a bad feeling. He is reaching out to FSU and that's never a good sign
Posted on 1/4/15 at 3:02 pm to MontyFranklyn
They've got Tarvarus McFadden and Derwin James at DB... As well as jalen Ramsey still there so he will have just as much competition. Where do you see he's reaching out?

A few posters on the FSU 247 board were saying it. Tbh, doesn't he have just as much competition here? So thats a wash.

There’s nothing flashy about a name like Ben Davis and there isn’t much that’s flashy about 2016 linebacker recruit Ben Davis either.
Even though the Davis from Gordo, Alabama is a heck of an athlete, he’s much more of a efficient football player that excels in several areas than one that jumps off the screen making a ton of splash plays. Davis does his job and does it extremely well. He’s one of the best outside linebackers in the 2016 recruiting class.
Height: 6’4?
Weight: 220
Athletic ability/measurables
He’s a very good athlete that has fluid hips. He doesn’t jump off the screen with his acceleration, but runs really well. He has an ideal frame and should be able to easily add weight over the next couple of years.
Skills/technique
Davis covers a lot of ground with the way he runs. He excels in tackling players in space and is comfortable walking out on the slot. He lines up on the edge frequently and does a great job of keeping contain and maintaining outside leverage.
Versus the run he does a good job of fighting through blocks to get to the play and uses his hands fairly well, but he needs to improve the way he takes on blocks. He needs to be more violent with his hands and his approach to turn three yard gains into three yard losses. He’ll be able to attack blocks better when his instincts improve and he starts to recognize what’s coming at him faster.
He has good ability to in coverage. His length is a great asset and he is able to get his hands on a lot of footballs for deflections. He flashes good ball skills as well.
Scheme fit
Davis is perfectly suited to play as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 or a Sam in a 4-3. Right now he’s not someone who would fit at inside linebacker.
Potential
Davis already shows a lot as a player and I think he can get exponentially better by playing a bit more aggressive. He also has the physical skills to develop into a great pass rusher and that has not even been tapped into yet. He’s going to be one of the top outside linebacker recruits in this class and should develop into a very good player at the next level.

Yeah newberg and all the nole guys think they're getting everyone just like their fans think. Only insiders who are worse are the auburn guys. They CB all Alabama prospects to them pre season every year lol. Or anyone who mentions the word auburn. Their fans are not as bad because they've learned their lesson too many times about recruiting. But minkah shouldn't be that worried. Tony brown will start 2 years and be gone. He's physically ready. Marlon will start either next year or the year after depending on how we move Cyrus and EJ around. Sheffield is a corner straight up. Fitzpatrick can play corner, FS, SS, star and even line up in money and LOS safety. He's big enough, physical by nature, and athletic enough. He's a more rangy but slower tony brown

There is something about Jawon Pass‘ game that jumps out at you immediately. He has big time skill, but he’s not an overly exciting player. That’s not meant as a knock on him. There is a calm to his game that a lot of young quarterbacks don’t seem to possess.
Pass is being recruited by just about every top school in the nation and has all the tools to be a great one at any school of his choice. The Columbus, Georgia native is one of the top prep quarterbacks in the class of 2016.
Height: 6’5?
Weight: 225
Athletic ability/measurables
Pass is the ideal size for a quarterback. He will definitely get bigger, but doesn’t really need to as much as a lot of other players his age. Runs really well and has solid lateral agility.
Skills/technique
Pass does a really nice job of not having happy feet in the pocket. He’s calm and balanced the majority of the time and that allows to be more consistent with his mechanics. There are times where he short arms some throws and doesn’t step into it enough, but I saw improvement in this area as a junior. His velocity on his ball went up significantly from what I could see.
Throws well on the run. He squares his shoulders up and has a consistent delivery with a few exceptions where he let up a bit when he should have fit the ball in there sooner.
He displays nice touch and accuracy on the deep ball. Really started to see him make more impressive deep throws as a junior. There are time when he might fade away a bit and let it go off his back foot. It’s at least something to keep an eye on in the future.
He recognizes pressure and does a nice job of escaping it. Still keeps his eye down field looking for the right throw and doesn’t sacrifice mechanics. Re-sets himself then delivers the football. He’s one of the few quarterbacks I have seen not lose significant arm strength when going to his second read. That’s huge when compared with some of his peers.
He’s a threat as a runner on designed runs and scrambles. He’s capable of moving the chains and gaining big chunks, but isn’t overly dynamic. His size allows him to break tackles and gain extra yardage.
Scheme fit
It’s not a shock that Pass is another player whose best fit is in a spread system where he is asked to primarily be a pocket player, but also can be used in the running game at times.
Potential
I watched a lot of sophomore and junior film on Jawon Pass, but still feel like I didn’t see enough of his throws. I’m excited to watch ever more film on him. From what I have seen, he’s an intriguing talent that has the physical tools to develop into a star at the college level.

Alabama is dominant in recruiting. Every year, the story never changes. They are going to have the top recruiting class in the nation in 2015 and are set to have another awesome class in 2016.
They are off to a great start with a commitment from Demetris Robertson, one of the top athletes in his class. This kid could be great on either side of the ball at the next level and wherever he ends up, the Tide are getting an impact player.
Height: 6’1?
Weight: 170
Athletic ability/measurables
Robertson is an explosive athlete with great speed. He needs to fill out and add weight, but has plenty of time to do so. His acceleration is outstanding.
Skills/technique
Robertson has great ball skills that are great on either side of the ball. As a receiver, he shows great burst out of his breaks to create separation and has the speed to run away from people. He’s got good skills after the catch and is someone who could be a solid runner on reverses/jet sweeps.
On defense, he takes aggressive angles and tackles through ball carriers. Is more physical than I expected for his size. He’s a very good open field tackler. He can erase mistakes and make up for false steps with his speed. If he gets a little cleaner in his transitions then he’ll make an even bigger impact breaking up passes. He plays safety for his high school, but I’d like to see him at corner more to see him in man coverage situations.
Also has skills as a returner and can make an impact in that area of the game.
Scheme fit
Maybe it’s the defensive guy in me, but I’d like to see him play defense at the next level. He’s just got the mentality to be great in that area. In saying that, he could also be dynamic at wide receiver. I don’t think there is a wrong answer with Robertson.
Potential
I love Robertson’s potential and think he may ultimately end up being one of the top players in this recruiting class regardless of position. I’m excited to see his improvement from his junior season and if he keeps on his upward trajectory he can be a special athlete for Alabama in the SEC.

Demtris Robertson is a straight burner. Another fluid receiver. Nobody could stick with him.

Watts expects Taylor to be cleared this week. Things are looking good for him to be in this class. Still not sure what I think about that.

Per the HZT, a source is saying that Bama leads for Chidi. He still has some work to do in the classroom.

Can we all it that? I thought anything other than TSWSNBN wasn't allowed.

I'm pushing the envelope. It's not like I am saying the name of the site. I didn't want to come across as some pseudo insider by saying "a source says..." without qualifying it.
