Free Info:

--DL Trenton Thompson, the nation's #1 prospect according to some, from Albany-Westover, GA, was still on campus at UA as of this afternoon. Source said that Thompson "has had a ball" spending time around UA players and other prospects, including Hogansville-Callaway, GA WR Terry Godwin. Heading into this weekend, Georgia has been considered the strong favorite for the 6-3, 307-pound Thompson with Auburn and FSU also in the mix. Alabama is certainly giving him something to consider.
--Speaking of Terry Godwin, word is the 6-0, 170-pounder, who is longtime Georgia commit, put on quite the show for the Tide staff during his workout session on Sunday. Source said that every UA assistant made their way over to congratulate Godwin on outstanding performance. Godwin displayed great athletic skills and proved that he's a big-time competitor and receiver during the workout. Godwin was so impressive that he spent the entire morning session today attached to Nick Saban's hip, as the two walked around together observing camp. Godwin departed UA early this afternoon. He's headed to Baltimore later this week to participate in a Rivals event. He hopes to possibly return to Tuscaloosa early next week. Auburn is also making a major push. By the way, Godwin is also an outstanding baseball player. He wants to play both sports in college.
--Shades Valley DL Daron Payne is also in town today. Payne is slated to fly out to Baltimore later this week for the Rivals event.

What do you make of this? Bad sign for Jackson Harris?

Looking at his film he has the close to the same blocking ability as the kid from Tenn. He looks more athletic though.

Why would you not want Payne to face Cotton? That's the best way to see what caliber player you're getting.

I've seen it mentioned elsewhere (you know where) that we may take 3 TEs.
He may be the third.

Hopefully Payne dominates everyone but Cotton.
That way they both raise their stock.

How many times you want him to put his dick in the dirt?

So it looks like it will come down to Alabama and Northwestern for Travis Waller assuming Barnett flips to Oregon (it appears that will happen).
I've said before that if we miss out on all the elite guys that we shouldn't take a QB just to take one and I still feel that way.
I don't put Waller into that category though. He is elite. He's the last one left, at least in my opinion. I'd love to land him.
Landing him may cause Eason to go elsewhere, but I'd be ok with that. There are other elite 2016 guys with heavy interest in Alabama that we can still get.

We offered Dormady after his throwing session today:
quote:
Boerne (Texas) QB Quinten Dormady tweets he's received an offer from Alabama on Tuesday following his showing at the Tide's camp The. 6-foot-4, 208-pounder participated in both sessions on Tuesday, throwing for offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and the Tide staff.
Dormady, who also holds offers from the likes of Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, TCU, Indiana, and Kentucky is only the second non-committed QB to glean an offer from the Tide. He missed his junior season due to injury but has had a strong spring camp circuit. Dormady ranks as the no. 174 overall prospect and no. 5 pro-style QB by 247Sports
